Joseph Mwangi Zakayo (ZJ)

1946 – 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Mwangi Zakayo (ZJ) of Gitige village, Kigoro location, Gatanga, Murang’a County which occurred on April 5th, 2022 at the Kenyatta University Referral Hospital.

He was son to the late Zakayo Kuhunya Joseph and the late Bertha Wambui Kuhunya.

Son-in-law to Late Hezron Kamau Njoroge and Late Keziah Njeri Kamau from Naishi Game, Nakuru.

He was husband to the late Alice Naomi Wangari.

Brother to David Gitau (Chairman – Njunu Tea Factory), Jackson Waiganjo and Ruth Nyambura Kariuki of Thika.

He was a loving father to Zakayo Kuhunya and Lucy Wairimu, Hezron Kamau and Immaculate Wambui, Bertha Wambui and Charles Thiong’o, Keziah Njeri and Edwin Mwaniki. An adoring grandfather to 12. He was a brother-in-law, cousin, uncle & friend to many.

Friends and Family are meeting for prayers at his home in Gitige village daily from 3 p.m.

The cortege will depart Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home along the Northern bypass on Wednesday, 13th April, 2022 at 8 a.m.

The funeral service will be at ACK St. Pauls Church – Giachuki, Kigoro location, Gatanga starting at 10 o’clock.

Thereafter burial will be at his home in Gitige Village, Gatanga in Murang’a County.
