Joyce Nzisa Mwongela

It is with deep sorrow and humble submission to God’s will that we announce the passing of Joyce Nzisa Mwongela, which occurred on I6th February 2026.

Joyce was the beloved daughter of the late George Zakayo Mwongela and the late Mary Alice Nthoki Mwongela.

She was mother of Naomi Muthama, Alice Muthama, the late Janet Muthama. Margaret Muthama and Patricia Muthama. She was a doting and devoted grandmother of Ayden Nduya, Sophie-Anne Mbesa, Melissa Nzisa, Olivia-Rose Kathule, Zachary Nduya, Ella Atieno and Etta Nzisa.

She was sister of Connie Mbithe Muia, Mary Mudachi, Leila Monica Ndunge Jaffer. Ngala Mwendwa Mwongela, the late Jane Mukulu Mwongela and the late Patrick Mutua Mwongela.

She was sister-in-law of the late Dr.Tom Kyendo, the late Edwin Mudachi, the late Jaffer Hilal and Christine Mwendwa.

She was aunty of Betty Ndulu (USA), George and Terry Muia, Kasiki and Lorian Egesa, David and Sheila Mudachi, Dr. Faith and Mungai Githiome, Joseph Mwongela, Hilal and Aisosa Jaffer and Chantal Jaffer, George Zakayo Mwongela Mwendwa and Julee Njeru Mwongela, Imelda Koki Were and Kevin Kafuko Were, Daniel Katungo Mwendwa and Debra Muthoki Katungo and Arthur Kaviu Mwendwa among many others.

Joyce was cousin of Morris Nicodemus Mwania, Eng. Nyamasio Mwania, Mueni Mwania, Malelu Peter, Mumo Vetelo among many others.

Meetings will be today Friday 20th, Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th at her house in Woodley.

Burial will take place on Friday 27th of February 2026 in Kilome, Kilungu, Makueni County.
