Lt Col (Fr) George Makau Kiuvu (HSC)

It is with deep sorrow that we, the Military Ordinariate Kenya and the Diocese of Machakos, announce the death of Lieutenant Colonel (Fr) George Makau Kiuvu (HSC). He was the Senior Chaplain Roman Catholic Church at the time of his demise. He hailed from Kwa Mutula village, Makueni County.
Son of the late Nesphor Kiuvu and the late Mama Helena Kiuvu. Brother to the late Gaudensia Wanza, Sister Jennifer Kiuvu of Sisters of Mercy, John Kiuvu (Universal Gases), Agnes Kiuvu (USA) and the late Salome Wausi.
Brother-in-law to Florence Mutisya (Aga Khan Hospital). Uncle to Gerald Mutuku (Businessman), Immaculate Mwake (Switzerland), Clementine Mwake (Nurse), Brian Mwake (Standard Group PLC), Erick Kiuvu (JKUAT), Maureen Mbithe (Strathmore University), Brandy Mbeyu (USA), Candy Kateve (USA) and Seraphine Mutuku (Businesslady).
The cortege leaves Mashujaa Funeral Home at Defence Forces Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, 6th September 2022 at 06:30am to Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral in Machakos. Requiem Mass will be at 10:00am and thereafter funeral rite at the Clergy Cemetery Katoloni in Machakos town.

My sincere condolences to KDF fraternity, family and friends on behalf of all the women from Langata women’s prison who received spiritual care from Fr George Makau. Your prayers and humour renewed hope to many. May you be received by Our Mother Mary and all the saints. Rest in eternal peace
My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Fr. Makau, the KDF & Catholic fraternity. I remember him as a humble and humorous priest who also celebrated a Family Thanksgiving mass at my home in Mariakani in the year 2018. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
