It is with with sorrow that we announce the passing of Madam Bertha Anyango Odera.

Wife of late veteran journalist Leo Odera Omolo. Co-wife to Caren, Esther, late Margaret and Herine; and Hellen, Dorine and Jane.

Daughter of late Ex-Senior Chief Nathan Oiung,u Otumba and Esther Aluoch of Chianda. Daughter-in-law of late Salome and Omollo Kotaye.

Niece of late Richard, Henry, Hezron and John of Ngodhe Sister of late Okatch Ojungu, Adam, Nyamunga, Grace, Jane, Joyce; and Ernmy. Cousin of Deborah Okeyo and James Aggrey.

Mother of late John Odhiambo, Elizabeth Ochieng’, Beatrice Ologi, Claire Ogolo and Boaz Omori; and Caroline Odera of USA and Dr. Kennedy Masime of CGD. Stepmother of Richard, Otunda, Rebecca, late Florence and Jackline, Lillian, Nereah, Diana, Eucabeth, Maureen, Vivian, Kelvin, Anduro, Mildred and Beverly.

Aunty of Apollo, Omulo Okoth, Kerina, Deborah, Grace, Pr. P J. Oluoch, John, Janak, Joshua, Wycliff, Margaret and Rose; and late Jane, Allan, Kennedy, Florence, Risper, Nathan, Hon. Otiende, Otieno, Abang’a, Atieno, Mourine and Adam.

She is survived by 20 great grandchildren.

The cortege leaves Ombo Mortuary, on 26/2/2026, at 9.00 a.m. The requiem mass will be at St. Francis of Assisi,ACK Rapogi at 11.00 a.m. The funeral service and burial will be on ,27/212026, at Rapogi Village, Uriri Constituency, Migori County, at 10.00 a.m.
