You were my first home, my first teacher, and my dearest friend. Saying goodbye is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I am so grateful you are finally at peace.
Tomorrow, I celebrate my first birthday without you, Mum.
I wish more than anything that I cold hear your voce, see your smile, and feel one of your warm hugs. Grief has a way of reminding s just how deeply we have loved.
There is one thought that brings me comfort: you saw me sober. Yo saw me begin to find my way back, and I will always be grateful that we shared the gift before you left.
As I turn 43, I promise to keep choosing the life I fought so hard to reclaim, I will carry your love, your lessons, and your strength with me wherever I go.
I miss you every single day, Mum. I hope I’m making you proud.
Forever loved. Forever remembered, :-*
