With humble acceptance of God’s will we announce the sudden demise of Major Evander Ochieng Amonde of The Kenya Airforce. Major Amonde’s Life was claimed by a grisly air crash in Ndavaya,Kinango, Kwale County as he conducted his routine trainings on Saturday, 14 June 2025.
He was a cherished husband of Rebecca Wangui (Becky) and a loving father of Kristie Oriana Rehma Amonde (Kora).
Son of Mr. Stephen Otieno Amonde, Mrs. Christine Apondi and Mrs. Beatrice Atieno.
Son-in-law of Mr. Daniel Ndung’u and Mrs. Mercy Ndung’u.
Evander was a loving brother of Zoe Achieng’ Amonde, Vanessa Akinyi Amonde, Alvin Otieno Amonde, Juvenalis Ochieng Amonde, Audrey Achieng Amonde, Merlene Achieng Amonde, Derrick Otieno and a brother-in-law of Rachel Ndung’u, Dennis Nderitu, Grace Wangeci, Peris Chepngetich and Lars Kessler.
Uncle of Lebron Tobby, Tinashe Hawi, Analya Atieno, Siobhan Letitia, Zia Andeyo Amara Grace, Zuri Angelique, Ethan Otieno, Arya Adhiambo, Imani Muthoni and Julius Kessler.
Cousin of Joyce, Kabete, Joshua, Caleb among others.
Family, friends and colleagues meet for daily prayers and planning at his Moi Air Base (MAB) Residence at 6.00 pm.
The cortege will leave Defence Forces Memorial Hospital, Nairobi on Thursday, 03 July 2025 for is ancestral home and final resting place in Ndai Village, Central Alego, Siaya County. He will be laid to rest Friday, 04 July 2025.
