Major (Rtd) Charles Edward Masaki Orango

We regret to announce the passing of Major (Rtd) Charles Edward Masaki Orango, formerly of the Kenya Air Force, which occurred on 31st March 2026.

He was the son of the late Nemwel Orango Mongare and the late Ebisiba Ariri of Ogango village; also, son of the late Bina, Banchiri, the late Kenanda, the late Esther, and Makarita.

Husband of Margaret Masaki; father of Stephen Masaki (ODPP), Rachel Bosibori, and Peter Masaki (KTDA); Father-in-law of Isaac Nyamora Mabururu; and grandfather of Courtney, Robin, Zuri, Carl, and Crystal.

Son in law of the late Jameson Nyarangi and Yunuke Nyarangi of Kenyamware village.

He was brother of Bundi Orango, the late Nyaboke Kerama, David Mongare, the late Mary Orango, Florence Nyabira, Joyce Nyasuguta, the late Kennedy, Shadrack Onduko, Pamela Orango, Azael, Ontiria, Ezekiel, Henry, and Omwoyo, among others.

He was brother-in-law of Joyce Bundi, Isaiah Kerama, Joyce Moraa, Mary Bochere, Stephen Nyabira, late Pamela, late Meshack Omwenga, Daniel Nyarangi, late Elijah Nyarangi, Helen Juma, Alice Kibagendi, Jane Menyuri, Florence Mosoti, late Don Nyabuti, Beatrice Edward Masaki Orango Ogembo, and Lynet Ondeyo, among others.

He was uncle of Dickson, Abigail, Georgina, Robert, Dr. Onyimbo Kerama, Damaris, Linet, Susan, Nesbitt, Abiud, Peris, Dickson, Christopher, Danson, Duke, Peter, the Nyarangi family, and many others.

He was nephew of CJ Emeritus Maraga; the late Nyamawa Mwencha; the late Bosire, the late Ishmael, the late Nyangaka, Judy, Philip, Gesora, the late Tengeya, the late Ongwae, the late Nyakoe, the late Gwako, and the late Onsongo.

He was a cousin of the Mwenchas of Tinga, the Onsongos, the Bosires, the Tengeyas, the Gwakos, the Nyagakas, the lshmaels, and others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Ogango for prayers and burial arrangements.

The burial is scheduled for 17th April 2026 at Ogango Village, Nyamira.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
