It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mama Betty Anyango Nyakiamo of Komanda Village, Sumba West Sub-location, Kaksingiri Location, Homabay County on 23rd September 2025.

Beloved wife of Mzee Dominic Mugeni Nyakiamo.

Daughter of mama Alice Oloo Otieno and the late Stephen Otieno, Jane Otieno, the late Monica and the late Dorcas. Sister of Joan, Mike, Judith, Norman, Nicholas, Ezekiel and the late George.

Sister-in-law of Hon. Peter Nyakiamo, John Oketch, Julius Yega, Francis K. Oduol, Pius Ochieng Muswanya, the late Pius Ogweno, the late Maria, Domitila, the late Samuel, the late Gabrieldoseph, Benta and Morris.

Loving mother of Irene, Jacob, Maria, Maggie, Tom and Arthur (Chief). Mother in law of Eric, Carol, Felix and Kahui.

Doting grandmother of Ruby, Nicole, Kayla, Natalie, Kylie, Niels, Kaycee, Khloe, Lyanna, Kayson and Baby Betty.

Cousin of Florence Ojode, Hon. Sammy Weya, Elizabeth Walwanda Keith, Joe, Dan, Julius and Edward Okinda, the late Francisca Indeche, the late.Dave Weya among others.

She was also a cherished aunt and friend to many.

The cortege leaves the Eldoret Hospital Mortuary on Thursday 09th October 2025 for a requiem mass at Eldoret Diocese, Moi Teaching and referral hospital chapel from 10.00am. Burial mass will take place on Friday 10th October 2025 at Komanda Village, Sumbawest Sub-location, Kaksingiri Location, Suba North, Homabay County from 9.00am.
