Mama Wilfreda Olero Yieke

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on to glory of Mama Wilfreda Olero Yieke, which occurred on the early morning of 22nd August 2022 after a short illness.

Mama was the beloved daughter of the late Johannes Muranga Opondo and the late Mama Margarita Abonyo of Yoga Village, Masiru Katieno, East Ugenya. Sister to Oriaro, Omoro, Opondo, Frinika Ogutu, Okello and Maria.

Mama was the beloved wife of the late Mzee Simeon Yieke Odhiang’ of East Yimbo Location, Magombe Village. Co-wife to Late Monica Akello. Daughter-in-law to the late John Odhiang’ Yiro, the late Mama Cecilia Opondo Odhiambo and the late Benedetta Mtam. Sister-in-law to Mzee Raphael Oyanda, Akoth Obare, Wilfreda Yiro.

Mama was treasured mother to Eng. Alfred Yieke & Prof. Felicia Yieke; the late Dr. Gerald Yieke & the late Phoebe; the late Eng. Joe Yieke & Clarice; Peter & Irene; William, Millicent & Beffry; John & Nelly; David & Grace; the late Mary Aloo; Martin & Karen. Aunty to many people.

Grandmother to Joan; Lennox, Sharon; Grace, Denis; Eve; Cynthia, Joseph; Quinter; Churchill; Apenzala; Monica; Simon; Aloo; Oyanda; Dalsey; Vincent ;Viera, Ouma; Rindel; Clamencia; Jakes; Trevor; Ivan; Glory; Raphael; Simon; Meshack; Fabian.

The cortege leaves Matangwe Funeral Home, Bondo on Friday, 2nd September 2022 at 9.00am for Requiem mass at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Nyamonye at 12.00 o’clock. Mama will be laid to rest on Saturday, 3rd September 2022, beginning 9.00am at her home in Magombe village, Yimbo.
