Maritina Barongo Gekara

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Maritina Barongo Gekara. She was born in 1939.

She was the second child of the late Julius Arama and late Mary Nyasiringi Kerubo of Mwongori Settlement Scheme.

She was wife of Gekara Ogeto and co-wife to Risper Gekara. She was loving mother of Patrick, Steve, Kennedy, Esther, Moraa, Pamela, the late Ogeto, Sophie, Mochama, Nyanchoka and Ogeto.

Sister of the late Misente, Selina, the late Nyambane, the late Nyankabaria, Yulita, the late Sengera, late Peter, the late Pacifica Nyambongi, Charles, Hellen, Hon. Samuel Arama (MP Nakuru Town West), Nyakerario, Serebina, Daniel, Batasi and Nyaega.

Sister-in-Law of James Ndemo, Andrew Mogondo, late Engineer Nathaniel Nyambongi and Samuel Biasi,Susana, Caren, Rose, Hellen, Florence Arama, late Binyanya, Kinanga, late Henry, Moti, Nyambare, Nyabwabu and Mwema.

Grandmother of Sarah, Risper, Winfrida, Myline, Winnie, Brian, Cyrus, Venessa, Edna, Michelle, Cheche, Alexina and Deslie.

Co-wife of the late Biriah, Gisiana, Neria, Gechemba and Rebecca.

Mother-in-law of Dr. Peter Nyabuto, James Maua (USA),Abdi Osebe and late Kennedy. Aunt of Nyanchoka, Cyprian, Sengera, Alfonse, Mary, Irene, Addrean, Ladiah, Andrew, Pravin, David, Geoffrey and Silas among others.

Great grandmother of Sarah,Adani, Leon, Dylan, Bianca among others.

Daily meeting are going on at Kerumbe Home. Funeral Service will be held at our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Ibara on the 15th March, 2026.

Burial service will be held at Kerumbe Farm on 20th March, 2026.
