Maureen Atieno Ogada

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Maureen Atieno Ogada which occurred on 24th October 2025 after a short illness. Until her untimely death, she was a dedicated employee of Imarisha Sacco Society Limited.

Maureen was daughter of the late Elder Jones Ogada Abuoga and Mama Beatrice Opayire Ogada of Kochogo North sub-location.

Maureen was wife of Mr. Apollo Odhiambo Oricho. She was mother of Sheila Adhiambo, Daphny Pauls, John Sheldon, and Trevor Wright. She was step-mother of Chuchu and Harriet.

She was daughter-in-law of Mzee John Oricho and the late mama Jane Oricho of Wang’aya I sub-location.

She was sister of Christine, the late Levy, David, Kennedy, and Jackline.

She was grand daughter of the late Mzee Reuben Abuoga, the late Mama Leah Abuoga, the late Mzee Hannington Nyarotho, Mama Eunice Nyarotho, the late J. B. Nyarnwaya, the late Dickson Ondiek, the late Charles Ogilo, and Mary Yogo among others.

Her uncles were the late Samwel, Jared, Sir Elly, Ayub, the late Leonard, Eng. Julius Nyarotho, Tom, Timon, Ngala, Alex, Ken, Ralph, and Tobias among others.

Her Aunts are Grace Abuoga, the late Ruth, the late Jael, Grace Ogilo, Christine, Rose, and Josephine among others.

She was also daughter of Florence, Mercy, Millicent, Debora, and Rebecca.

She was cousin of Brian, Bill, George, Diana, Purity, Marolyne, Bon,Wilfred, Nancy, Caroline, Mitchel, Emma Cathy, Lorine,Angeline, Jackline Gombe, Faith, Lavender,Tonny, Florence, josephat, Evans, and Lonah among others.

Maureen was sister-in-law of Peter, the late Wyclice, Sharon, Sally, Nancy, Elizabeth, Millicent, Roseline, Margarete, the late Evet, the late Christine, Geoffry, Kennedy, Beatrice and Belinda.

She was aunty of the late Faith, Harningtone, Darren, Luice, Beatrice, Bea Bianca, Jones, Brookline, Laila, Nasib,Abdul, and John.

The cortege leaves Othoo Funeral home on Thursday, 13th November 2025 for an overnight stay at her home, Masaka village, Wang’aya I Sub-location

Burial will take place on Friday, 14th November 2025 at the same placc.The burial service will be conducted by Rev. Gabriel Ochuka of African Inland Church (AIC).
