Monica Owuor Omollo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Monica Owuor Omollo of South Nyakach; Kamnua village, Kabete, a beloved mother, grandmother, and pioneering educator, who passed away peacefully on 10th Oczober 2025.

She was the wife of the late Wellington Omollo Gogo.

Beloved daughter of the late Jeconiah Opiyo Jala and the late Nerea Awiti Opiyo of Pala Kakumu, Kabondo, She was a trailblazer in her community, known for her unwavering dedication to education and her steadfast commitment to empowering generations of young minds.

Sister to Sister of Harrison, Late Duncan, Japheth, Ruth, Jackton, Mary, Grace, late Seth, Late Joel and Evaline.

She was co wife of Salome Nyagwala Omollo and Carren Juma Omollo. She is survived by her children: Erick Ochieng-Ochieng Omollo Advocates, Lillian Atieno- USA, Gordon Odhiambo, Janet Auma, Grace Adhiambo, Late Evertyne Achieng, Linda Akoth, Evans Odiwuor, Amy Akeyo, Caroline Olwero, Roseline Akinyi Kola, Pamela Anyango, Dr Dorothy Aduda, Ruth Adoyo, Late Maurice Omondi, Asenath Akeyo, Edith Apondi, Duncan Omollo, Late Wilson, Harrison Omollo, Leornad Omolo; Hyrine Akoth, Grace Atieno, late Fredrick Gogo, George Omollo and Francis Gogo.

Daughters in law are Roseline Ochieng, Rose, Linda, Damar, isdora, Pamela and others.

There will be a fundraising meeting on 28th October 2025 at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi from 5pm.

The cortege leaves Nyabondo Mission Hospital mortuary on Friday 31 October 2025 at 2.00PM for a church service at Withur ACK church and thereafter a night vigil at her residence. Funeral service will be on Saturday 1st November 2025 at Siany Primary School Grounds, thereafter burial at his home in Kanuka NAM Village; Nyabondo, South Nyakach.
