It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mrs Gladys Wanjiru Chege which occurred on Friday 7th November 2025 while undergoing treatment.
She was a beloved daughter of the late Isaac Mungai Kigamba and the late Hannah Wangari Mungai.
She was a loving wife of the late Chege Njoroge and adoring mother of the late Grace Kiringa Chege, Hannah Wangari Kaigu., Naomi Wanjiru Kinuthia, Ruth Waithira Chege, Hilda Gathoni Mburu, Jane Njeri Kamau, Stephen Njoroge Chege and Isaac Mungai Chege. A doting grand mother of Gladys Wanjiru Kahuro, Daniel Chege among others and many great grandchildren.
She was loving sister of Alice Njeri Kamau, Agnes Nyambura Ng’ang’a, Joseph Ndung’u Mungai the late James Muturi Mungai, the late Ruth Waithira Kiarie, the late John Kahato and the late Gitau Mungai
Mother in love of the late Francis Kaigu Kinuthia, Bishop Samuel Kinuthia Kabee, Simon Mburu Mwaura, Henry Kamau Wainaina, Lydia Wanjiru Kibue and Mary Wambui Wanyika. Beloved niece, cousin, aunt and friend to many.
Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at her home, Kirura Village commencing at 4.00 pm.
The cortege will converge at KU Teaching and Referral Memorial Home on Friday 14th November 2025 at 7.00 am. Family and friends will there after proceed to her home at Kirura villager Githunguri, Kiambu County for the funeral service commencing at 11.00 am.
