Nephat Gikunju Karinga

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mr. Nephat Gikunju Karinga of Karia village Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County which occurred on Tuesday 28/05/2019 after a short illness.

Son of the late Former Chief Karinga Kuriera and the late Wanjiru Karinga of Karia village. Loving husband of Peris Gacuku Gikunju. Brother of Wanene Kathumbi, Isabella Mwai, Wathiba Karinga (Mombasa), the late Wanene Ngondi, the late Peter Muwe, the late Ephantus Kuriera and the late John Kang’acu. Loving father of the late Faith Muikia, Robert Muchiri (Mutitu Polytechnic), Prof. Joseph Kangangi Gikunju (JKUAT), Mary Njeri, Rose Gikunju (St. Paul’s University), Francis Muwe Gikunju (Umoja), John Kinyua Gikunju, Milcah Gikunju (UoN), Edith Gikunju (Samaj School) and Beth Gikunju (KCB). Father-in-law of John Muikia, Lilian Muchiri, Irene Kangangi (Cherry Binders Academy), the late Margaret Nyawira, Joyce Nyokabi, Damaris Wayua, Michael Kimani (KUCCPS), Jeremiah Wahome (KEPTAP) and Paul Thaithi (KCB). He is blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An uncle of many.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at his home in Karla Village, Ndui-ini, Kirinyaga County.

The cortege will leave ACK Mt, Kenya Funeral Home on Thursday, 6th June, 2019 at 9.30am for funeral service at ACK St. Mary’s Gakoigo Church at 10.00am and burial thereafter at his farm in Karia along Kutus Kerugoya Road.
