One Year Without You

“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day —unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.” It has been one year since you left us, yet not a single day has passed without thoughts of you.Your presence I still lingers in every corner of our home — in our laughter, in our quiet moments, and in the little things you taught us that continue to guide our steps. You were more than a husband and a father; you were our strength, our safe haven, and our greatest blessing. Though your chair sits empty and your voice is silent, your love still surrounds us.We see it in the smiles of children, in the lessons you left behind, and in the courage, you inspired us to carry on.

We miss you beyond words, yet our hearts are filled with gratitude for the love you gave so freely, for the
memories that bring us comfort, and for the quiet assurance that you still watch over us. Your spirit remains the heartbeat of our family, and your legacy lives on in everything we do. Until we meet again, we will live in a way that would make you proud. ire love you endlessly and will carry you with us always with all our love.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” Psalm 3 4: 18

First Anniversary

I6th November 2002 – 19th October 2024

Today, 19th October, 2025, marks one year since you departed to be with the Lord. With hearts still heavy, we gather in remembrance and gratitude for the time we shared with you as a family. You were a cherished son of Sheriffsam Mwangangi Mwendwa, OGW and Mary Mutono Kimweli, caring brother of Elizabeth Mutei Mwendwa and a lovely cousin of Dr. Sheilla Mbinya Musyoki amongst many others.

Though one year has passed since we said our farewells, not a day goes by without thoughts of you. Your absence is deeply felt, yet your spirit endures within us — in memories, our values, and the legacy you left behind.

You lived with purpose and service, touching many lives as a philanthropist and a deeply compassionate soul. Always ready to lend a helping hand, whether to friends, family, or even strangers. Your generosity knew no bounds, and your kind heart touched many lives. You believed in the social welfare of the less fortunate in the community and constantly sought ways to contribute positively to society. Your unwavering faith in God, was steadfast. Your humility, combined with a drive for success, set you apart as a young lad wise beyond his years.

At Plainsview Primary School and at the Sunshine High School, you were illustrious as the President of the School Welfare Club, because of mobilising contributions from friends and the school’s fraternity to support students who could not afford to buy a loaf of bread at the school canteen and you fundraised school fees for the needy students. You left behind a legacy of kindness, determination, love and inspiration. You touched the lives of so many people in profound ways, and the world is a better place because you stepped in it, even for a short while.

Your life reminds us of the importance of living with purpose, staying true to our values, and caring deeply for others.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to all our relatives and friends, the New Apostolic Church, Kenya, the Parliament of Kenya and the medical team at the Nairobi Hospital who supported us through this journey.

There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts. Continue resting in peace John. Forever celebrated, Loved and dearly missed.
