Father-in-law of Sylvia Kawira, Dr. Jackline Mutugi, Judith lkunyua and Cosmas Nyakundi. Brother, of the late Augustine Maitima, late Teresa Kananu, Henry Mugambi, the late Mazimino Mworia, Mrs Justine Kathambi Maitima, Fidelis Ngaruni, Mrs Christine Kithiira Mbae, Dornisiano Mbaya and Pascasio Mutua, Brother in law of Fredrick Ngatu, Kendi Ngatu, Isaac Kinoti, Florence Kinoti, Pharis Rutere, Rose Rutere, Emily Murugu and the late Solomon Murugu. Grandfather of Yvonne Sheila, Nixon, Melissa, the late Daphne, Angela, Austin, Adeline, Lily, Gabriel and Abigail and great grandfather of Karl Austin Nyakundi.

Family and friends are meeting daily at Norwich Union towers (opposite Hilton Hotel).The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Friday 14th July, for funeral service and burial at his home in Gankere village, Meru county.

Mother of Wilson Waithaka Thiong’o (Kitale), Dickson Mwari Thiong’o of Mathari, Nyeri, Moses Muoria Thiong’o of Wiumiririe, Martha Wairimu Thiong’o of Ol-Karau Nyandarua and Robert Kamau Thiong’o of Nairobi. Sister of late Robert Kamau, Ndaiga Gathungu, Njagi Gathungu and Maina Gathungu. Sister-in-law of Damaris Wangechi and Waithiegeni Mworia. Cousin, aunty, grandmother of many.

Family and friends are meeting in Nairobi Emmaccra hotel basement near Tea Room from 6:00 – 8:00pm daily and at her home in Gaturuturu Village. The cortege leaves Mathari Mission Hospital on Tuesday 18th July 2017 at 8.00am for a funeral service at PCEA Gaturuturu church at 10:00 am and burial at her home in Gaturuturu, Mugumoini.

Sister of David Kimani Githara, Peter Kamau Githara, Anna Wanjiku (Germany), Margaret Wambui (Germany) and Lucy Kamau (Happyland Pangani). Step sister of Cecilia Muthoni Karanja (Kikuyu). Mother-in-law of Simon Njuguna (S.A). Sister-in-law of John Peter Kamau Ruhangi (Duckfarm Waters). Grandmother of Michele Muthoni (Tigoni International Sch.), James Mwangi, Mary Blessing (Precious Brooke Sch.).Auntie and cousin to many.

Family and friends are meeting at her house in Pipeline Embakasi daily from 6.00pm and at her sister’s home in Garden Estate daily from 6pm. The cortege leaves KU Mortuary on Wednesday 19/07/2017 at 8.30am for funeral service and burial at Lang’ata cemetery at 10.30am.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday 22nd July 2017 in Chuka Iruku village, Tharaka Nithi County. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the extended family and friends.
