Jane Waitherero Mwari

It’s with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved Teacher Jane Waitherero Mwari.

Daughter of late Felix Gathungu and late Jemimah Njeri of lyego Kagema. Loving wife of teacher Simon Mwari of Gaturuturu, Mahiga Location, Othaya. Mother of Wilson Waithaka Thiong’o (Kitale), Dickson Mwari Thiong’o of Mathari, Nyeri, Moses Muoria Thiong’o of Wiumiririe, Martha Wairimu Thiong’o of Ol-Karau Nyandarua and Robert Kamau Thiong’o of Nairobi. Sister of late Robert Kamau, Ndaiga Gathungu, Njagi Gathungu and Maina Gathungu. Sister-in-law of Damaris Wangechi and Waithiegeni Mworia. Cousin, aunty, grandmother of many.

Family and friends are meeting in Nairobi Emmaccra hotel basement near Tea Room from 6:00 – 8:00pm daily and at her home in Gaturuturu Village. The cortege leaves Mathari Mission Hospital on Tuesday 18th July 2017 at 8.00am for a funeral service at PCEA Gaturuturu church at 10:00 am and burial at her home in Gaturuturu, Mugumoini.
