It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mrs Mary Theresia Mumbi Macharia on Saturday 10th June 2017 at the Nairobi Women’s Hospital. Daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Pharis Macharia Kiragu and Maryann Njambi of Karunga Ndumberi Kiambu County. Loving mother of Stephen Muiruri (Kawaida), the late Jane Njeri. Maryanne Njambi – Italy, Viriginia Wanja (Diani Mombasa) and the late John Macharia. Doting sister of Serah Mukuhi Ndungu (Kanunga), Margaret Wangari Nginyo Kariuki (Limuru), Grace Njeri Thomas (Kangari Murang’a), the late James Kiragu, Francis Gitau Macharia (Sharp) – Githiga,Viriginia Wanja Mburu (Karunga) and the late Cecilia Wanjiku. Sister-in-law of Hon Lawrence Nginyo Kariuki (Limuru), Joseph Ndungu Rubia (Kanunga), Felistas Wangui Gitau (Matuguta School) and Thomas Njuguna Wamugunda (Kangari Murang’a). Mother-in-law of Teresia Wairimu (Kawaida). Grandmother of Terry, Edgar, Kate, Aunt of Kariuki,Violet,Wangari and among others.

Meetings are taking place daily at the Ndumberi -Karunga family home and at her residence in Dandora Phase 111.

Elvis Ochieng Ragot

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Elvis Ochieng Ragot, which occurred on 25th May 2017.

Son of the late Francis Ragot and Eunice Ochanjo of Royal Golf Club Nairobi. Grandchild of the late Zablon Ochanjo and Monica Auma Ochanjo. Nephew of Erick, Roseline, Eunitor, Doreen, Grace, Rosemary, Eunice and the late Edwin, Domans and Jeckton. Brother of Brian, Sharon and Brenda. Cousin of Daniel, Ouma, Damaris, George, Fred, Evans, Linda, Ken, Carol, Winnie, Millicent, Regan, Alfine, Diana, Albright, Tonny and many others.

The cortege leaves Chiromo Mortuary on Thursday 15th June 2017. Burial will be on Saturday 17th June 2017 at Kano Kabonyo, Kadibo Division, Kawino Sub Location Odienya School.

Jagjit Singh Kular

16/4/1942 – 12/6/2017

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Jagjit Singh Kular which occurred on 12th June 2017. Son of the late Bachittar Singh and Gurbachan Kaur. Husband of Sukhvinder Kaur. Father of Kiran and Aman. Grandfather of Nay. Brother of the late Hardial Singh and the late Hardev Singh.

Jagiit was a distinguished hockey player. He represented Kenya at the Mexico 1968 and Munich 1972 Olympic Games, the Barcelona 1971 and Amsterdam 1973 World Cups.

Later in Canada he was involved in coaching, administration and management of the national team there.

His funeral will take place on Tuesday 20th June 2017, in Toronto, Canada.

Mama Norah was the daughter of the late Shadrack Omusinde and the late Lydia Tsisiche Omusinde. Wife of the late John Dishon Abonyo Anam and Co-wife of Jennifer Anam. Mother of Jacqueline Mogeni (Council of Governors), Elizabeth Ngari (Australia), Neville Matar (Australia) and Ronald Abonyo. Mother in law of Okongo Omogeni, Frank Ngari, Norah Matar and Jane Anam. Grandmother of Kami, Gekara, Okongo Junior, Aliaro, Shanice, Kelsie, Shifra and Jabali.

Step mother of Petronilla, Beatrice, Monica, Bernard, Sophia, Bwuora, late Pauline, late Atieno, Bobby, Odhiambo, Taja, Olindi and Anyango. Sister of Beatrice Khayemba, Benson Maube, David Namai, Grace Fadamula, Winfred Mbati, the late Eunice Oteyo and Josephine Akhamwa among others.

Sister in law of: Mr and Mrs Ondiek Ng’inja, Waya Mary, Mr and Mrs Steve Makanga and aunt of Alice Aluvale, Dorcas Amanya (UK), Winnie Ambuka (US), Lydia Khaemba and John Omulubi among others .

Prayer meetings will be held at All Saints Cathedral at 5:00 pm on Monday, June 19, 2017. A fundraising will be held at the same venue on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 5:00pm. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Mother-in-law of Remnant Mwanahiba of USA, grandmother of Lucinda Judith Mwanahiba and Nellie Esther Mwanahiba USA. Daughter of the late Chief David Odanga and Martha Mudonyi of Sabatia Maragoli. Daughter-in-law of the late Benjamin Elisha Ateka and Florence Amukowa of Ebusikhale Epang’a Luanda Constituency. Sister-in-law of Alice, Emmy, Caren, Lucy, Bilhah, Catherine, Evaline and Damaris.

Burial will take place on June 17th 2017 Ebusikhale sub-location Luanda Constituency Vihiga County.
