Philip Kibor Murei

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Philip Kibor Murei, who was called to rest on 12th May 2025. Born on 1st May 1948 in Chemirot Village, Nandi County.

Philip was the second-born son of the late Marko and Salome Murgor Mekengen. He was a beloved brother of Paul Kenei, Eliud Busienei, Jane Too, Richard Kemboi, Dorcas Maim, Esther Lagat, and lsaack Samoei.

Philip was a devoted husband of Mrs. Esther Murei and a cherished father of Ruth, Moses, Elias, the late Caroline, Beatrice, and Dorothy. He was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He will be fondly remembered for his unwavering dedication and exemplary service as the National Vice Chairman of the Kenya National Police DT SACCO, a role he served with distinction from 1996 to 2005.

Funeral arrangements are ongoing at his residence in Racecourse, Eldoret, and at his rural home in Chemirot Village.

A main harambee to help offset medical expenses will be held on Sunday, 18th May 2025.

The burial is scheduled to take place on Friday, 23rd May 2025.
