It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Prof. Erick Chenje Mwachiro, a distinguished academic and scholar at Pwani University, who went to be with the Lord on 6th December 2025.
He was a devoted husband of Susan Kadzo Mwachiro, and loving father of Michael Mwachiro Chenje and Alma Munii Mwachiro.
He was the beloved son of Juliana Mnyazi Mwachiro and the late Mwachiro Mwatata. Prof, Mwachiro was a brother of the late Fredrick Mwachiro, Janet Mwaring-a, Selvin Kimathi, Jambo Mwachiro, Pauline Birya, Onesmus Mwachiro, the late David Mwachiro, the late Agnes Mwachiro, Christine Mwachiro, George Mwachiro, Dorothy Katana and Brian Mwachiro,
Family and friends are meeting daily at his ancestral home, Chumani (Kwa Charo wa Kiringi) from 2:00 pm and at his home at Misufinl, Kibarani Ward, Kilifi from 5*00 p.m. for prayers and funeral arrangements.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, 12th December 2025, at ACK St.Thomas Church, Kilifi, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and thereafter, a public viewing at his home in Misufini, Kilifi, Kibarani Ward. The cortege leaves Kilifi County Funeral Home on Saturday, 13th December 2025 at 7.00 a.m. The burial will take place on the same day at his ancestral home, Chumani (Kwa Charo wa Kiringi).
