Prof. Henry Moses Munyua Thairu

(18 Sept. 1945 – 25 Jan. 2026)

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our dear Dad and Guka, brother, and friend, Prof. Henry Moses Munyua Thairu.

Husband of the late Mary Jane Ndunge Thairu. Father of Esther Waniiku Thairu,Timothy Thairu Munyua, George and Tina Mudhune. Grandfather of Subira. Baraka. Kalekye, Liane, Dalience and Munah.

Son of the late Francis Thairu Munyua and the late Rachael Wanjiku Kamukwa and son in law of the late Baranaba Matingu and the late Kalunde Matingu.

Brother of the late Leonard Waiyaki, the late Charles Wainana, Samuel Mungai, David Gichuhi, the late Peter Muhoho, Margaret VVambui, Bernard Kungu and Isaac Njoroge.

His kindness, warmth, and love touched the liver of many.

To honour his legacy and support the family, evening prayer meetings are being held at Karen Community Church from 5.3Opm on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th January 2026.

There will be a memorial service at Nairobi Baptist Church on Sunday 1st February at 3pm.

The funeral service has been set for Friday 6th February 2026 at Karen Community Church. More details will follow.
