Rose Murugi Munene (Nyina wa Muthoni)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mrs. Rose Murugi Munene (Rtd teacher Gikumbo Primary School) which occurred on 14th August while receiving treatment at the Nairobi West Hospital.

Daughter of the late David Wamae and the late Damaris Gacoki of Kanluri Village. Step-daughter of the late Ruth Wamuyu Wamae.

Beloved wife of Rtd. Chief George Munene Macharia. Loving mother of the late Speranza Muthoni, Robert Macharia, Richard Wamae, Florence Njoki. Petronillah Wanjiru, Scholastica Wanjiku, Judy Wairimu and Eric Muchoki.

Sister of the late Elizabeth Wanjiku Njoroge, the late Col. David C. Macharia & Alice Macharia, Mr & Mrs. Stanley Gicheru, Mrs Judy Wanjiru Muita, Mrs Agnes Gichanga, the late Lily Muthoni Muita, Ms Zipporah Nyawira, Mr. Elias Muhiu and Mr & Mrs Johnson Ndoria.

Mother-in-law of the late James Kinuthia, Beatrice Wanjira, Chris Kanyi,William Njoroge and Antony Wamatu. She was a grandmother, auntie, cousin and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting at 6.00pm daily in her home at Gikumbo Village, Karatina and at Homeland Inn,Thika Road for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Jamii Nursing Home on Saturday 23rd August 2025 at 9.00am for requiem mass at Gikumbo Catholic Parish at 11.00am.Thereafter burial at her home in Kindara Village. Gikumbo location, Mathira East, Nyeri County.

Mum, you have fought a good fight, you have finished the race and you have kept the faith.

May your soul, through the mercy of God rest in Eternal Peace.
