It is with sadness and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Samuel Gachugi Wambugu, formerly of KCB and Equity bank.

Son of the late Serah Muthoni and the late Hiram Wambugu.

Beloved husband of Jernimah Wangui Gachugi, Dedicated father of Sarah Muthoni & Pascal Kinyua, Christopher & Faith Wambugu and Eva Wanjiku Gachugi. Adored grandfather of Imam, Sifa,Taraji, Bliss, Sia & Kenan.

Treasured brother of the late Peter & Eunice Mwangi, Zipporah & the late Samuel Njege, Betha & the late Edward Maina, Grace & Donald Maina, the late Abijjh & the late Harrison Njomo, Joyce & the late Felix Kimura.

Dear son-in-law of Elishiba & the late Ezra Thiongo. Loved brother-in-law of Joseph & Marion Kiega, John Paul & Elizabeth Chege, Uncle, grandfather & great grandfather to many.

Family and friends will be meeting on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th January 2026 for prayers and funeral arrangements from 4:00 p.m. at ACK St. Peter’s Cathedral, Nyeri and from 5:30 p.m. at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.

The Memorial Service will be held at ACK St. Peter’s Cathedral, Nyeri on Thursday 29th January 2026 from 11:00 a.m.

The cortege will depart from Nyeri Funeral Home (Outspan Hospital) on Saturday, 31st January 2026 at 7:00 a m This will be followed by a funeral service at Mathioya Technical & Training Institute (Kamacharia) from 9:30 a m. and the burial thereafter at his farm in Kamacharia, Murang’a County.
