Samuel Wangila Wanyonyi

We regret to announce the passing of Samuel Wangila Wanyonyi who tragically passed on Tuesday 3rd March, 2026 after electrocution while on search and rescue operation in Nairobi. He was a lifeguard at Wadi Degla Club and an expert aqua rescuer with the Kenya Red Cross Society.

He was the third born son of Mzee David Wakhungu and Mama Zipporah Naniala.

He was loving husband of Joan Wanjiku and adoring father of young Elan Wangila and Klarissa Wangila.

He was brother of late Amos and Phoebe, Emmanuel Simiyu, Anthony Wanyonyi, Francis Wanjara, Peter Wanyonyi and Mark Mukhebi.

Son-in-law of late Reverend Ezekiel Kabiro and Keziah Wanjiru. Brother-in-law of Nelly Kabiro, Monica, Mary Kabiro, Joan Nyambura, Edward Njuguna.

Nephew of Boniface Jairus, Mark and Sikuta and uncle of Francis Wanjala, Zipporah Nanjala and Ainra Gitau,

Memorial Service to be held at All Saints Cathedral Church on Thursday 12th March 2026 from 11.30AM.

Burial will take place at the family’s home in Sirakaru village, Naitiri sublocation, Bungoma County on Saturday March 14th, 2026.
