It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Stephen Mwangi Gathenya after a long illness bravely borne.
Son of Samuel Gathenya Mugo and the late Peninah Wanjiru. Husband of Beth Njeri Mwangi. Father of Samuel Gathenya (USA), Robert Karanja (USA), Mercy Wanjiru (France), Francis Mariga (USA) and George Njiiri. Brother of Jane Kimani, Lucy Gakari, Mary Njoroge, Esther Kamau, Julia Gathenya, Catherine Njau, Francis Mariga (USA), John Maina, Elizabeth Wanjeri, Winfred Kioko, Ann Wambui and Elias Thuo (USA).
Son-in-law of the late Jackson Kiruthi Njiiri, Jane Wanjiku Kiruthi and Margaret Nyathira Kiruthi. Brother-in-law to Jamleck Njiiri, Peter Njaria, Evanson Mwaura, Paul Thuo, Joseph Gichiri, Mr. Seed (UK), the late James Mwangi, Anne Mwathi, Faith Nduati and Richard Ndubi. Father-in-law to Kimberly Mwangi, Irish Karanja, Keila Mariga and Philip Dumas. Uncle of many and grandfather of Samante, Rakai, Camron,Teddy,Tiven and Jenna.
The cortege procession leaves General Kago Mortuary (Thika General Hospital) on Thursday 28th June 2018 at 8:30am for a requiem service that will be held from 10:00am at ACK St. Stephen Church, Ngoingwa Thika, Kiambu County. Thereafter, the body will be laid to rest at Mukawa-A Village, Gatuanyaga Sub-location, Thika East District, Kiambu County after the requiem service.
