Truphena Apondi Omotto

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of our beloved mother and grandmother Truphena Apondi Omotto who peacefully went to be with the Lord on 29th May 2019 at the Aga Khan University Hospital.

The first child of the late Daniel Mzigo and the late Norah Angala Obwaka and sister of the late Miriam Were, the late Christine Otieno, the late Mesach Odipo, the late Alfayo Mzigo, Benjamin, the late Edwin Mzigo and the late Jane Odhiambo.

A loving mother of the late James Aggrey Odhiambo, John Mark Ochieng, the late Nelson Omotto, the late Margaret Adongo, Josiah Omotto, Pamella Nyaidho, the late Barack Omotto, Fred Omotto and Daniel Omotto.

A beloved mother-in-law of Caroline Odhiambo, Rosemary Ochieng, the late Millicent Ochieng, the late Ambrose Adeya Adongo, Sellah Omotto, the late Thomas Nyaidho, Rose Omotto and Merryle Omotto.

Dana Truphena is survived by a generation of 33 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will hold a major fundraising at the All Saints Cathedral on Tuesday the 4th of June 2019 from 5.00pm and a final meeting on 5th of June at the same venue.

A memorial service will be held at the All Saints Cathedral on Thursday the 6th of June 2019.

The cortege will leave for Got Osimbo on the 7th of June where a requiem mass will be held at St John’s ACK Church and thereafter a night vigil at her home.

Mama will be laid rest on the 8th of June 2019 at her home in Got Osimbo, Ramunde Village.
