Virginia Gathoni Muguiyi

It is with much sadness we announce the demise of Mrs. Virginia Gathoni Muguiyi on 29th January 2026 at The Nairobi Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of James Ngatia Muguiyi, and most adored mother of Lucy Wangari Ochieng, John G. Muguiyi, Patrick N. Muguiyi and .Elizabeth W. Muguiyi. Mother-in-love of the late Philip Ochieng Ajuang and Anne Nyokabi Muguiyi. A doting grandmother of Akwe & Amor Ochieng, James, Trevor and Gathoni Muguiyi.

Virginia was the daughter of the late Samuel Mariu, Bertha Wangari and Penina Njeri. A daughter-in-law of the late Muguiyi Kahuthu and Lucy Wangari.

Her siblings: The late Titus Kigotho & Grace Kigotho, Eliud & Esther Mwangi, James & Anne Nganga, the late Grace Kiana & Titus Kiana, Esther Maina & the late Danastan Maina, the late Fraciah Kihara & the late Apollo Kihara, the late Kagoe and the late Waithera Mariu.

She was a sister-in-law of the late Grace Muthoni Mwaniki and the late Mwangi Githaiga.An Aunty, cousin and friend of many.

Muthoniwe wa the late Stephen and the late Prisca Ajuang, the late Francis Kiarie and Rahab Kiarie.

Prayer services are taking place at her home from 2nd 4th February 2026.

The funeral service will be held on 5″ February 2026 at the ACK St. Francis Church – Karen, at 10.00am The interment will follow thereafter.
