The cortege leaves Cherengani Nursing home Mortuary Kitale on Sunday 18th Dec 2016 at 10am for his home in Maliki.

 

Burial will be held on Tuesday 20th December 2016 at his home Maliki, Bungoma County.

 

Friends and Family are meeting daily at Friends Centre Maringo and his home in Maliki at 5pm.

 

A major Fundraising will be held on Friday 16th Dec 2016 at 2pm at his home in Maliki and 5pm at Friends Centre Maringo.

Wife of the late Geoffrey Ikenga Ngunje of Kiriaini, Kamacharia Location, Murang’a County. Daughter of the late John Kibaka and the late Margaret Nyambura of Kahuti Village, Kiharu Location, Murang’a County.

 

Mother of the late James Ngunje, John Kibaka, Eliud Kiriithi, Wilson Mwangi, Jane Njeri, Late Margaret Wanjiku, Norman Waweru, Nancy Wachera Muchiri, Susan Wanja, Peter Ndung’u. She had many grandchildren.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary at 7am on Tuesday 20th December 2016 and proceed to Kirungu ACK Church.

Daughter of John Njue Njagi former director of operations and PPO Nairobi and Julie Njue formerly of Provincial Commissioner’s Office Nyeri.

 

Sister of Eric Njue (Delmonte), Peter Gitonga (KDF), Kennedy Njeru (National Bank of Kenya). Grand-daughter of the late Absalom Magi and the late Lilian Wathumi, Bilha Warue and Lines Kaumbuthu.

 

Loving partner of Marco Sico. Sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and niece of many.

We the family of Josphat Muiruri Kihanya give thanks to the almighty God for the 80 years he gave us Dad.

We would like to thank Father Kamomoe, CWA, CMA and the entire Holy Family Basilica Fraternity, Nairobi Chapel – Pastor Nick, Pastor Kabibi and the team, Father Patrick Device, Father Simon of Trinity Church and all the other Fathers who stood with us during this very difficult time.

We shall be forever grateful to Dr Mwongera and the entire team of Nairobi Kidney Centre, The Nairobi Hospital especially the St John’s Ward Nursing Team, Dr Sally Harman, Joshua, Joseph and Kuria  – Dad’s dedicated full time nurse. Thank you for giving Dad the best medical care and going beyond over and above expectations.

Thank you to Dad and Mom’s Community in Kileleshwa, to all our Family and Friends here and abroad, we shall be forever grateful for your overwhelming support during Dad’s hospitalization and as we laid him to rest. Thank you for giving of yourselves I’m prayer, financially and in kind. Finally thank you to the funeral committee who did an incredible job.

To all of you, May the Lord continue to shine His light upon you, may you continue to be abundantly blessed and may you find favour in His eyes.

We the children want to thank our MUM for loving Dad for the 56 years that God gave them together. Thank you mum for being a true woman of substance.

Bishop Javier Echevarria

Prelate of Opus Dei

1932 – 2016

We regret to announce the death of Bishop Javier Echevarria.
Prelate of Opus Dei and Chancellor of Strathmore University on 12th December 2016 in Rome, Italy.

Bishop Echevarria was in Madrid. He worked closely with St Josemaria Escriva, founder of Opus Dei, from 1953 to 1975.

In 1994 he was elected Prelate of Opus Dei. On January 6, 1995, he was ordained Bishop by St John Paul II in St Peter’s Basilica.

A requiem Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Basilica today Friday 16th December at 2.30pm.
