1935 – 2017

 We the Mutyandia family regret to announce the passing on to glory of Jasper Kimondiu Kioko( formerly of Ministry of Foreign Affairs) through a tragic road accident on the 14th January 2017.

Son of the late Kioko Mutyandia and the late Mumbi Kioko. Son-in-law of the late Kavuli and Maingi. Husband of the late Priscilla Nduume. Father of the late Stanley lthau, Samuel Kyalo, Florence Mueni, Duncan Maingi and the late Violet Mwikali. Brother of Grace, the late Kiume, the late Martha,     the late Esther, Molly, Jacob Muting‘a and Rebecca. Step brother of Japheth, the late Jonah, the late David, Nzisa and Joshua among others.

Brother-in-law of Mary and Fibi. Grandfather of Samantha, Natasha,Timothy, Priscilla, the late Nicola, Joy, Jessica, James and Robert. Great grandfather of Jemima and Joshua.

Relatives and friends are meeting daily from the 16th January 2017 at his Lang’ata Home (Masai Estate) Beneve Cafe opposite Teleposta Plaza-Nairobi, Kauti Academy (Kitengela) and his rural Kyale and Kauti homes for funeral arrangements as from 5.3Opm.

The burial date will be announced later.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that announce the passing on of Winnie Waruguru Kamanu.

Wife of the late Anthony Kamanu Ngere. Co-wife of the late Mukami, Wairimu (Limunga), Kabui. Daughter of Kuria Karuru and the late Wanjiku, Mother of the late Gathoni, the late Kanyi and Macharia,Wambui and Waweru, Kuria and Njeri (Juja) Njeri and Njuguna, Wanjuhi and Karuga. Sister of the late Wambui, the late Wandene, Mendi, Gathoni Wangui, Gitau (All late) and Njeri. Step mother of Ngere (Thika), Karanja (Nairobi). Eng Kamanu (Thika), Mbatia (Nyahururu), Gathariki (Ndabibi) among many others. Grandmother of 26 children, great-grandmother of 26, great-great-grandmother of 3.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Mortuary (KU) Thika Road on Saturday 21st January 2016 at 8.00a.m. Funeral and burial service will follow at her home where she will be laid to rest in her Limunga farm Nyahururu Laikipia County the same day.

1937 – 2017

It is with sympathy and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mr Stanley Muriu Macharia on 11th January 2017.

Beloved son of the late Macharia wa Gikonyo and the late Margaret Wambui Macharia. Loving husband of Mrs Anne Wanjiku Muriu and father of Francis Macharia of Nkoroi, the late Charles Muura, Mrs Margaret Wambui Maina of Premier Academy and Andrew Gikonyo. Father-in-law of Lucy Wahu Kamau and James Maina Kariuki.

Brother of the late George Nyoike, the late Kabura and Patrick Kinyanjui. Step-brother of several siblings through step-mothers Tabitha Wangari and the late Freesia Nduta. Grandfather of Martin, Simon, Kariuki and Muriu.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at his residence in Kahawa West and in Ol Kalou.

There will be meetings at Holy Family Basilica from 5.30pm-7.30pm. Today Tuesday 17th and tomorrow Wednesday 18th January 2017. There will be a requiem mass to be held at 5.00pm on 19th January 2017 at Consolata Catholic Church Kahawa West. The body will leave Montezuma Funeral Home on 20th January 2017 at 6am for the funeral service to be held at his home in Munyeki, Ol Kalou starting at 10.00am.

Appreciation 

We the family of the Late Charity Wanja Muraguri, wish to express our sincere gratitude to the Almighty God for giving us peace and comfort as we mourned the death of our dear mother and grandmother.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all our relatives and friends for the overwhelming support in honour of our beloved mother.

We have been greatly humbled and appreciate the words of encouragement and comfort through visitations, texts, telephone calls during the difficult time of bereavement. Our utmost gratitude goes to the doctors and nurses of Medanta Hospital – India, Medanta hospital – Nairobi, M.P Shah Hospital, Meridian Equator Hospital, the homecare nurse who tirelessly made our dear mum comfortable during her illness.

Special appreciation goes to the leadership and congregations of Evergreen P.C.E.A Church, P.C.E.A Gitunduti Church, Prayers Beyond Boundaries Ministries, PC.E.A Ngarariga Church, Parklands Baptist Church, P.C.E.A Kahawa Sukari Church and Saint Celebration Family Church, Utawala for their visits and prayers at home and at St Andrews Church.

Our sincere gratitude to the funeral committees both in Nairobi and Gitunduti.

As a family we owe a huge debt of gratitude to many other individuals and groups who assisted us in various ways during our mother’s illness and in the burial preparations.

Since we are not able to thank each one of you individually, we humbly request that you accept this as an expression of our most sincere appreciation and gratitude.

Tribute to Ms Rose Tindi Ougo, Valued Member of the GDC Family

We regret to announce the sudden and untimely demise of Rose Tindi Ougo, who was the Acting General Manager, Corporate Services at the Geothermal Development Company (GDC).

Rose was one of the pioneer senior management staff having joined GDC in September 2009 and served in various capacities.

She was a valued team member who made a great contribution to the growth of GDC since its inception in 2009.

Rose Tindi is the daughter of the late Hannington James Ougo and Mama Catherine Auma Ougo and stepdaughter of Marna Damar Auma Ougo. Mother to Stacey Menga and David (Daddy) Onyango and grandmother to Ivan Tindi and Gift Otieno.

There will be a main Harambee at All Saints Cathedral on Wednesday 18th January 2017 from 5pm.

The Church Service will be held at the Consolata Shrine, Waiyaki Way in Westlands on Thursday 19th January 2017 at 10.00am.

Burial will take place at her Home in Obambo, Kisumu County, on Saturday, 21st January 2017. •

We pray for peace and comfort at this most trying moment.

The family of Katembu wish to celebrate the life of Marionne Mueni Mbiti. Beloved daughter of Titus Katembu Mbiti and Queen Faith Katembu.

Sister of Sheila Mwikali Mumo and Grace Wayua Mbiti, and sister in law of Stanley Mumo Moki. Loving aunt of Shanna Wendo Mumo and Scott Teyi Mumo. Loving friend of the brethren of the Gospel Centers International Fraternity and also classmates from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and of many others that knew her and loved her.

Funeral Service will take place on Friday 20th January at Gospel Centres International Church, Pipeline, Embakasi, from 11am with the Burial Service then being held on Saturday 21st January at her Parent’s home in Kithyoko, Machakos County.

Funeral arrangements are ongoing at the Katembu’s home at Lang’ata & at All Saints Cathedral everyday from 5:30pm.

A Main Fundraiser will be held tomorrow Wednesday 18th January at All Saints Cathedral from 5:30pm.

The Catholic Diocese of Ngong’ and Mill Hill Missionary Society regrets to announce the death of Bishop Colin Davies on 8th January 2017 at Freshfield UK, aged 92.

He was a great missionary in Kenya and served in the Diocese of Ngong’ from 1960-2003.

Burial will take place on Friday 20/01/2017 in Freshfield UK, at 11am.

There will be a requiem Mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral Ngong’, on January 20th 2017 starting at 10:00 am.

In Loving Memory

Dear Ian,

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile to our faces. If only we could have you back for just a while, we sit down and talk again like we used to, laugh together like we used to.

The fact that you are not here with us still hurts. You are still missed and will forever be in our hearts. You fought the good fight, you won the race.

We love you but God loves you more. Till we, meet again.

 

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that family and friends announce the promotion to glory of our dearly beloved sister, friend, daughter and mother Patricia Nyapada Nottbohm.

She was admitted to the military hospital in Hamburg Wandesbek on the 29th October in 2016 and went into a comma. She was later transferred to the Teaching and referral hospital (UKE) in Eppendorf where she passed on on the 30th of November 2016.

She left behind a 23-year-old son, Brian.

Patricia will be laid to rest on Thursday the 12th of January 2017 at 13:00 pm at the Ohlsdorf Friedhof in the Kapelle Nr. 13.  After the Funeral service, the family and friends are invited to gather together for some food at the hall on Überseering 13, 22297 Hamburg.

May God grant her soul eternal rest.
