It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on to glory of Martha Njambi Nyaga (Mwalimu Njambi) on the 2nd January 2017.

Daughter of the late Onesmus Nyaga and the late Diana Njoki Nyaga.

Mother of the late Johnson Nyaga, Hildah Nyakio – Wa June (Kiria), Perry Wanjiku, Chrysostom Chege, (Wells Fargo Embu), Ruth Njeri, Nimrod Gikonyo, Timothy Thinji and Fridah Wambui (Bahrain).

Family and friends are meeting at her residence Muraranda Village, Murang’a County, Emmacra Hotel Nairobi and Blue Valley Estate Embu.

The cortege leaves Murang’a County mortuary on Wednesday 11 January 2017 at 8am for a church service at ACK Murarandia Church – Murang’a at 11.30 and thereafter, burial will be held at her home in Murarandia village.

Husband of Mary Annie Chege (PGH) Nakuru. Father of Davies Kiarie (Family Bank) and Victor Kuria. Brother of M. Njoki, Waitherero, J. Kariuki, Mungai, Njeri, Njoroge, Wambui, Njoki, the late Muthoni, Nyambura, Kariuki, Waithera, the late Wainaina J. Mungai.

Family and friends are meeting at Racetrack Nakuru and Kibereke Murang’a from 5:30pm.

The cortege leaves PGH Nakuru on Thursday 12th January 2017 at 5.30am for funeral service at his home in Kianjogu village, Naaro Sub-Location, Kandera Location, Murang’a County.

Wife of Leonard Thirikwa. Daughter of the late Duncan Wanjoya Gathinyu and the late Grace Wangari Wanjoya. Daughter in law of the late Wilson Gichure and late Waruguru Gichure.

Mother of Wilson Maina Thirikwa (Dodhia Packaging Ltd), Andrew Gichohi Thirikwa (Ongata Rongai), Agnes Waruguru Ndhunya (Kaputei), John Wanyoya Thirikwa (Allpack Industries), James Mwangi Thirikwa (Land Mawe Ltd) and Charles Kimunyi Thirikwa (Citi Hoppa). Mother in law of Nancy Muthoni, Phyllis Watiri, Maureen Mwende and James Ndhuya. Sister of Mary Njoki Kiongo, the late James Mwangi Wanjoya and the late Gerald Gatumbu Wanjoya. She had 13 grandchildren and a beloved Aunt of many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her residence in Ongata Rongai, Abbey Hotel in Nairobi CBD and Mbotela Estate (Barbados Restaurant).

The cortege leaves KU Funeral Home on Thursday 12th January 2017 at 6.30am funeral service will be conducted at AIPCA Mairo Inya-Shauri Church in Nyahururu and later burial at their family farm in Ngai-Ndeithia on the same day.

Mum you fought the good fight finished the race and the kept the Christian faith throughout your life. R.I.P

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Cheche Kiriba of NSSF which occurred at Karen Hospital on the 5th of January 2017. Son of Walter Kiriba Cheche and Damaris Wambui Cheche.

Husband of Jane Manguye (NSSF). Father of Kiriba Cheche, Brother of Philip Kiriba, Sam Kiriba (NSSF) and Nicholas Kiriba. Son in law of Stanley Manguye and Jane Manguye. Nephew of Sam Ng’ang’a of Gakinduri, Eliud Mworia of Karen, Martha Wangari of Ukunda among others. Cousin of Elizabeth Njau (ERC), Mercy Mworia (Karen Hospital) among others. Uncle of Wambui Kiriba, Maureen Njeri and Edna Njeri among others.

Friends and family are meeting from Monday 9th January 2017 at St. Andrews, Nairobi, from 5.30pm. There will be a fundraiser to offset the medical bills on Wednesday 11th January 2017 at the same venue from 5.30 pm.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home on Thursday 12th January 2017 at 9am. The funeral service and burial will be held at Gakinduri village, Cura, Lower Kabete from 10.30am.

Grandfather of Treniece Thairu, Tierney Githaiga, John Thairu, Kate Wambui, Stacey Wangari, John Billy Kinuthia, John Ryan Thairu, Winslet Wairimu, Humphrey Gitari and Trevor Thairu. Brother of Njuguna, Wairimu, Githongo, Kang’ethe, Njeri, Kabura, Nyambura, Wambui, Epheth. In-law of Purity Wangui, Catherine Njeri, Amos Njau and David Gitari. Friends and family are meeting daily at his home in Makuyu Mowlem, Kahawa Sukari, MacGeorge Hotel Thika and at Gituamba for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Gen. Kago Funeral Home, Thika, on Wednesday 11/01/2017 at 8.00a.m for requiem mass and burial thereafter at his farm in Makuyu, Mowlem.

Mombasa businessman Tahir Sheikh Said, popularly known as TSS, died on Tuesday at a hospital in South Africa.

The billionaire’s son Tahir Mohamedconfirmed his death at Milpark hospital, saying he had been sick for a while.

“It’s a shock to us but it’s Allah’s plan,” he said, but noted the billionair was privileged to have lived for 72 years.

Mohamed said the bodywill arrive at about 1am on Wednesday morning for burial at Saragoi cemetery before midday.

Tahir had invested billions in the transport industry through TSS buses. He was also in the real estate and milling businesses, and had ventures at the Coast and other parts of the country.

The businessman’s family has been involved in wrangles over loan defaults of about Sh2.7 billion, associated with TSS Unga Millers.

Early in 2015, the government cancelled title deeds to large tracts of land in Lamu county that were associated with the tycoon.

Some of the land is said to have been used to secure loans in excess of Sh5 billion from two banks that are listed on the stock exchange.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden demise of Mzee Timothy Kimutai Tiony of Koyabei and Chepkechei, Kericho County, that occurred on 08.01.2017 at Coptic Hospital. He was the son of Kiptiony arap Chemaget and Taprantich (Both deceased). He was husband of Rhoda Tiony and Hellena Tiony (Both deceased).

Father of Grace, Pius, Charles, Joseph, Ludia, Moses, Benjamin, Jonathan, Sarah, Late Loice, Philip and Noah. His daughters in law are Hellen, Loice, Grace, Lily, Sarah, Mary, Sally and Diana. His sons in law are the Late Isaac, William and Selim and late Moses Lang’at. He was brother of the late Jeremiah Tiony

and SophiaYapsoi. Cousin of Josiah Lang’at, the late Isaac Lang’at and the late Chepkwony Lang’at. He was grandfather to 51 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

There will be a fundraiser to offset medical expenses on Wednesday 11.01.2017 5pm at Nairobi Central SDA Church, Koyabei and Chepkechei homes respectively.

Burial will take place on 20.01.2017 at his Chepkechei home, Kipkelion Sub County.
