Steve Mbuthia Wainaina

It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely death of Steve Mbuthia Wainaina that occurred on the morning of Wednesday 15th February 2017 in Thika, Kiambu County.

Son of Edward Wainaina Gathigi and Susan Wangui Wanaina (both of Thika). Brother of Nancy Gathoni Lightcey (USA) and Simon Gathigi Wainaina (Thika). Brother-in-law of Assadi. Uncle of Christian, Tatiana and Ethan.

He was adventurous and had a passion for sports. He was a scrutineer of Kenya Motor Sports Federation (KMSF) and a Kenya Nation Rally Championship (KNRC) Navigator. He was also a golfer at Thika Sports Club.

Family and friends are meeting daily at Coconut-Grill Hotel Thika starting at 6pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves General Kago Funeral Home – Thika Level 5 – on Thursday 23rd February 2017 at 7am for the funeral service and burial at his home in Miharati, Nyandarua County at 11am.

Today marks 10 years since our good Lord called you home. Many changes have occurred in our lives but one thing that has remained constant is that special place you hold in our hearts.

Your words of wisdom and hearty laughter, your love for God, discipline and hard work and your love for the finer things in life have continued to be our guiding motto.

Although we (Nancy, Christine, Kevin, Family and Friends) miss you dearly, we thank God for the time He allowed us to spend with you.

A service of unveiling of the cross will be held on Saturday 25th February 2017 at his home in Kiriko, Kirinyaga.

Mother-in-law of Josephine Magotsi, the late Capt. A. Ketoyo, the late Gilbert Akwabi, the late Mary Magotsi and Edwin Aliwa. Sister of the late George Otieno. the late Frank Ombima, Bervely Oyieko, and the late Churchil Onyino. Sister-in-law of Joseph Ndusi, Rasoha Nakweya, Ramona Lwabukha, Edward Okanga and Rosemary Abasa (all deceased). Grandmother of 22, Great Grandmother of many.

The body is lying at Nightingale Mortuary, Kisumu. Meetings for the burial plans are ongoing at Seasons, Uchumi House, Nairobi, at 5.30 pm daily.
