He hailed from Nyamira County, Mwongori Sub-location. Son of the late Alfayo Onyimbo and the late Bathseba Manani. Husband of Pauline Morangi, father of Pamela Kwamboka (USA), Norah Moraa, Welmah Nyambeki (USA), Tom Nyaunga (Jamaica), Stellah Onyimbo (KPLC), Walter Mwene, Gideon Onyimbo (KPLC), father-in-law of Pascal Momanyi (USA), Jairus Omwoyo (USA), Shona Mila (Jamaica), Everlyne Moraa, and Rose Kirai. Grandfather and great grand-father of many.

Friends and relatives are meeting at Pangani Estate House No.2 and EHS Aga Khan Walk Demonstration Centre on 3rd and 6th March 2017 from 5p.m.

Brother of Teresa Morogo (SRI Kisumu), Emilly Bett (KCB), Peris Rono (Kericho), Solomon McToo (MKU Kericho), Elly McToo (USA), Joshua McToo (Qatar), Damaris Kiptoo (USA) and Sheillah Kurgat (Land Registrar, Nandi). He was also a brother of Samwel, Amos, Lilian, Milka, Joel, Lenah, Josephat, Aaron, Rose, Joseph and the late Nelson: All of Cherangany, Kitale.
