Prof. Mutuma Mugambi
Kenya Methodist University together with the family of Prof. Mutuma Mugambi DSM; MBS; MBChB; dip. Cardiol; PhD; MKAS; FCAM, wish to announce his sudden passing, on the evening of 25th February 2017. Prof. Mugambi was a professor in physiology & cardiology and a consultant at Woodlands Hospital – Meru. He is the Former Chairman of the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), First Vice Chancellor of Kenya Methodist University (KeMU), Founding Vice Chancellor of Riara University and Founding Director of Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI).
Loving Friend and Husband of Mrs. Jane Njoki Mugambi. Doting father to Brenda Mwendwa, Tito and Setyowati, Jacqueline Muthoni, Sonia Nkatha, Ivan Mutuma, Mwiti and Kimemia Mugambi. Wonderful Grandfather of Mutiara Mugambi. Beloved son of the Late Silas and Late Nancy M’Mugambi of Kinaani, Meru. He was a son in law of the Late Joseph Kimemia Migwi and Maria Nunga Kimemia of Donduri, Nyandarua. Devoted Brother of Dr. Gatuta & Eva Munene Mugambi, Amb. Kalimi & Gideon Mworia, Mwari & Late Alex Mbugua, Kanario Miriti, Dr. Mworia & Faith Mugambi, Late Dr. Kinoti Mugambi, Bundi & Late Susan Mugambi. Husband of the Late Mary Lugalya Mugambi. Brother in love to Late Peter Migwi, Francis T. Kimemia EBS, Late Patrick Kimani, Late James Mbugua, Lucy Njeri, Anne Mbau,Veronica Wambui, Charles Njau, David Chege, Rev. Fr. Samuel Wachira and Esther Wambui. In Law to the Wajiran and Lugalya families, nephew, cousin, uncle, mentor and friend to many.
A Celebration Service will be held at the Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) Chapel, Meru on Saturday, 4th March 2017 at 10.00 a.m. followed by burial immediately thereafter at his home – Nkoune/Kinaani, Meru.
The meeting point for the cortege will be the Kaaga Primary School, Meru/Maua Road at 9.00 a.m. on Saturday, 4th March 2017. Meetings of family and friends continue at the PCEA St. Andrews Church Hall, Nyerere Road, Nairobi, and his home, Nkoune/Kinaani, Meru on Wednesday, 1st March 2017 and ;Thursday, 2nd March 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m.
