Beloved husband of the late Veronica Wanjeri Ogolla and Maria Raminda Ogolla. Great grandson of Ex-Paramount Chief Ambrose Ndeda. Son of the late Johannes Odera and the late Albenta Wenwa Odera. Brother of the late Leonora Apondi Omollo, Victoria Awuor Maguke, the late Herenia Otieno and the late Gaudencia Omollo. Step-brother of Albert Abondo Odera, the late Jane Omonge, Pamela Orera, Grace Onginjo, Teresia Oketch, Ruth Akoth, Pauline Atieno and Jane Ndeda.

Beloved Father of Pius Ogolla (Shree Swaminarayan-Mombasa), Raphael Ogolla (Nairobi),Anne Wayayi (Siaya Township Primary), John Ogolla (Chemelil Sugar Company), Dr. Teresa Ogina (University of Pretoria), Mary Arina (Kakringo Primary School), the late Rose Ogolla (Mombasa Municipal Council), William Ogolla (CAS Consultants), Eng. Michael Ogola (CAS Consultants), late Joseph Obote, Petronala Akinyi, late Monica Akoth, Rosemary Atieno, late Margaret Anyango, Maurice Otieno, Paul Onyango and Cecilia Aluoch.

Father in-law of Beatrice D. Ogolla, Betty N. Ogolla, William Wayayi, Sylvia Ogolla, Josiah N. Ogina, Maurice Arina, the late Charles Ndirangu, Carolyn Mutindi, Nancy Chemeli and Catherine Wangari. He leaves behind 30 Grand Children and 13 Great Grand Children.

The cortege leaves Masaba Hospital Mortuary Daraja Mbili on Friday 21st July 2017 at 10am for a requiem Mass at St. Sylvester church. Burial Mass will take place on Saturday 22nd July 2017 at Akala-Gem, Siaya County starting at 10am.

It is with great sadness that the family of Nicholas Biwott announce his death on I I July, 2017.

We give thanks to God for his life and the great love he bestowed on us as a husband. father, grandfather and great grandfather.

We will always remember with loving affection his wit and humour, and his ever-wise counsel.

We give thanks too for his life-long service to our country which exemplified extraordinary generosity as a friend and vision as a civil servant,  politician and statesman: his dedication to the people of Keiyo-Marakwet: the promotion of regional development his instrumental role in developing the energy and electrification infrastructure in Kenya: his promotion of tourism, including through the establishment of theTouristTrust Fund and the re-introduction of the East Africa Safari Rallies; his renegotiation of AGOA and his commitment to East African regional integration and co-operation.

We honour his outstanding achievements as a statesman, politician, farmer, entrepreneur and employer, including the building of some of Kenya’s first regional businesses.

We wish also to record with pride the great works that he undertook, which he personally held so dear.  In particular we remember his passionate commitment to the development of education in Kenya, particularly the education of girls, through the building of numerous schools; his tireless efforts over many years in the development of multiple health and medical service projects; his role in the establishment and development of the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI); and his many years of work and support for the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya of which he was a founding trustee.

He has left an extraordinary legacy for Kenya and its young enterprising talent.

The memorial service will be held today at AIC Milimani church (State House Rd) as from 10.00 am.The body will be flown to Toot Village tomorrow morning for viewing. The burial will then be held on Thursday the 20th of July at his home in Toot Village.
