On behalf of my children and I, we wish to sincerely express my gratitude appreciation to my family, relatives, friends and well-wishers who stood by us during this untimely and sudden demise of my dear wife Jane. Your prayers, encouragements and counseling words have truly kept us strong.

Special thanks to Fr.Alfonso for the Mass before the funeral and thanksgiving Mass after the funeral, to Fr. Juliano for his encouraging words at our residence, to Fr. Kanja of Mariira parish assisted by Fr. Dominic (cousin) and Fr. Muraguri of Catholic University. Our appreciation also to the St. Anne Jumuiya Kahawa Sukari, C.M.A and entire church of St. Joseph Catholic Kahawa Sukari, Meka pillars Ltd, St.Ann Brothers Kahawa and Highchem Staff, Parliamentary Service Commission staff, Karatina County Fraternity, Nairobi School 2002 Old Boys, Kalimoni Catholic Church Juja and Pace Setters  group. Last but not least our appreciation to the funeral committee who sacrificed their time.

We, the family of the Late Peter Opande, wish to express our heartfelt gratitude, first and foremost to God for blessing us with Peter, and remaining faithful, merciful, and gracious throughout his life journey. We further wish to thank everyone including friends, relatives, neighbors, and even strangers who prayed for and with us, called, visited, or sent messages of comfort during our mourning period.

We remember and remain grateful to the many who visited with us in his farewell ceremony at his resting place in Kitale. We remain forever indebted to Dr. Mwongera and staff at Nairobi Hospital for their commitment in caring of our beloved Peter. We acknowledge and register our utmost appreciation to the funeral committees in Nairobi, Kitale, and Texas, and give special thanks to the leadership and membership of Nairobi Central SDA Church (Maxwell) Karengeta SDA Church (Karen) and Twiga SDA Church (Cherangany) for condoling with us duringiour most difficult time.

We also wish to convey our sincere appreciation to Hon. Mzee Simeon Nyachae and family, Hon. Dr. Fred Matiang’i, Peter’s former colleagues at EADB,ABN Amro Bank, & University of Nairobi, and indeed many souls who helped or participated in Peter’s final journey, in one way or another.

The family of the late Mrs. Gladys Njeri Njoroge (Nyina wa Kinyoro of Eldoret) wish to acknowledge the many expression of sympathy and kindness shown to us following our loss.

Our sincere gratitude go to all friends, relatives, neighbours and well-wishers who took their time to visit us and attend the funeral, those who provided practical and emotional support during the difficult time of our bereavement, thank you all for your prayers. Thank you for your love and kindness Thank you all for your financial support which enabled us to clear the large medical bill which had been incurred. Special gratitude goes to the Doctors, Nurses and the other Care-givers at the ICU Nairobi West Hospital for the professional handling you offered to our departed.

We extend our special gratitude to Nairobi West PCEA Church for hosting the funeral service at their facilities, our gratitude go to Ayub Kinyua PCEA Church Eldoret more so Reverend Ephraim Mbugua Nganga for presiding over the burial service and the service at the grave side words cannot express our gratitude, thank you so very much, ACK Church (St. Pauls) of Eldoret for the support given to us and also travelling all the way to Nairobi for the funeral. Friends of the departed who travelled all the way from Eldoret and other parts of the country to attend the funeral we say Asante Sana for your time. Our sincere gratitude goes to Dr.Wairimu Waweru for the kind hand she offered during the difficult time, thank you so much. Special thanks to Mzee Kariuki of CPC Church Madaraka for his guidance. We remain touched by the love and kindness shown to us in this period of bereavement and remain grateful to all of you, from our childhood and family friends to colleagues. To the clergy: your commitment to the family can never be repaid. thank you immensely for the spiritual support and nourishment that both sustained us and continues to keep us going. We also thank the selfless healthcare professionals who took care of Mum during her hospitalisation and into her final days. We thank God for the privilege and blessing of having a truly remarkable mother, Cucu and friend.

The organizing Committee is grateful for all the kind words and messages received during this time, including condolences from H.E. President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, Dr Joseph Kinyua (Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service), the staff of the Executive Office of the President and all of our friends and family in Mwimuto, in Nairobi and abroad.

We thank all of those people who looked after Cucu in old age. This includes doctors, nurses and pharmacists who attended to her.

We give special mention to Mrs Phyllis Wambui Wagacha for her selfless and enduring care of Cucu.
