We, the family of the Late Zachariah Maleche and the Late Rose Adera Oyatsi Maleche express our gratitude to the Almighty God for blessing us with loving and caring parents, father, husband, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, mentor and for blessing us with the strength and peace during this difficult time.

We wish to convey our sincere gratitude to everyone who stood with us during the illness and demise of our beloved Father. Words cannot express our appreciation in depth for the love and care, the generous spiritual, financial and material sacrifices from Family, Friends, Neighbours, Colleagues, both Churches and Funeral Organizing Committees in Nairobi and Kakamega and all who played a role during the hospitalization and funeral process.

We wish to particularly acknowledge the Planner’s Profession through Mr. Augustine Masinde Director of Physical Planning Ministry of Lands & Physical Planning, Dr. Lawrence Esho Chairman of Kenya Institute of Planners and Mr. Mairura Omwenga Chairman of Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planning Chapter).We are forever indebted for your overwhelming kindness and immeasurable support.

We express special gratitude to the School of The Built Environment, UoN through the Dean Prof. Robert Rukwaro, Heads of Department, Department of Urban and Regional Planning Staff and Students through the Chairman Dr. Isaac Mwangi, all Staff and Students at A.D.D Building. The memories, deep sympathy and support will always be remembered.

A year has passed yet it seems like only yesterday. The vacant gap you left cannot be filled. We will always fondly cherish your love, sacrifice, kindness, guidance, caring and forgiving virtues. Our memories of you have not faded but instead become stronger and more colourful due to Gods continued grace upon our lives. You are missed in ways that cannot be told but we are grateful for the time we shared in your life.

We remember the many who visited, called, prayed, assisted financially, provided much needed counsel, made tea, or just held our hands and lent a shoulder. Asante sana from the depth of our hearts it all made a difference and lightened the load. We would like to specially mention the Nairobi & Kitui Medical & burial Committee teams headed by Mr. Manasses Sumbi & Lemmy Mulwa (Nairobi Team) & Hon. Daniel Ngoima Kimanzi & Stephen K. The family of the late Veronica Wairimu Mbuthia (Wa Mugweru) wish to convey their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stood with us during her illness and passing away. We wish to express our profound appreciation for the prayers, messages of support, attendance and sympathy received through personal visits, calls and texts.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff of Nazareth Hospital, St Consolata Catholic Church, Kiria-ini, the Catholic Women’s Association (CVVA), the Nation Media Group, Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua and Indian Ocean Tuna Ltd (Thai Union) of the Seychelles for their role.

Our gratitude also goes to the organising committee members who sacrificed to ensure everything went according to plan; special mention goes to Prof Frederick lraki for his steadfast commitment.

We the family of Margaret M. Ngumi, mother of the late Albanus Makau Ngumi would like to thank all family, friends and neighbours for all the kind expressions of sympathy, donations, prayers, kind words,, hugs and precious time received during their sad bereavement and financial constraints.

Sincere thanks to Kilimambogo Catholic mission with father Johnson for spiritual guidance. Gratitude and thanks go to Dr. Edison, Dr. Ayuga and Mercy Kariuki for long medical care. Thank you to the MMP Team, the staff and the pupils of Thika Barracks, Madaraka Primary School and other teachers in Thika area. Gratitude to former pupils of Madaraka Primary School especially Lydia Mwanzia &family, Ivy Aziz and her team, the Alliance Girls High School class of 1976-1981, Kilimambogo Primary School Alumnae, for their great financial help. The MCs Mwalimu Dominic Chege, Patrick Muchiri, the organizing committee led by madam Waithira Mwangi.

Last but not least, the Delmonte Company  office led by Mr.Simon Bunyasi and the Mlaguguni/Ndula Youth with Duncan Gitonga for clearing and grading the road. Thank you very much, may God bless you all.

We would like to thank all those who sent us such wonderful tributes and condolence messages, all those who visited us at home and those who worked tirelessly to ensure that we gave Ambassador Kiplagat an amazing and fitting memorial service and funeral, which celebrated his life and legacy.

We would like to extend our special thanks to The Government of Kenya, in particular the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade led by Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Dr. Amina Mohamed. We cannot thank you enough. May God bless you abundantly for all the very special and great support you provided Ambassador Kiplagat and our family from the onset of his diagnosis.

Honourable Phillip J. W. Masinde and family would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to all who stood with us during the demise of our wife, mother and grandmother. Your messages of sympathy,  words of comfort, physical presence, emotional and financial support and overwhelming generosity are truly appreciated.

We would like to sincerely thank the doctors who attended to mum over the past three years: Dr. Betty Musau, Dr Khan, Dr Kiarie, Dr Abwao, Dr Wanyoike, Dr Olang, Dr Otieno and Dr Baraza, the staff at the Nairobi Hospital and Lee Funeral Home.

Special thanks also to the funeral committees both in Nairobi and Busia who worked tirelessly and all those who were involved in one way or another in preparation for mum’s journey home. We are truly grateful.

As it is not possible to reach out to each one of you individually, please accept this message as a sign of our sincere gratitude and appreciation. We are truly humbled by the outpouring of love, support and thoughtfulness during this period of sadness.

We remain forever indebted to Dr. Mwongera and staff at Nairobi Hospital for their commitment in caring of our beloved Peter. We acknowledge and register our utmost appreciation to the funeral committees in Nairobi, Kitale, and Texas, and give special thanks to the leadership and membership of Nairobi Central SDA Church (Maxwell) Karengeta SDA Church (Karen) and Twiga SDA Church (Cherangany) for condoling with us duringiour most difficult time.
