It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of Gods will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mzee Mathew Murende Shilabula who was the Patron of lsukha Heritage Organisation and Founder Chairman of Shinyalu Botanical Gardens on 20th May, 2021 at Kakamega County Referral Hospital after a short illness.

Son of the late Lawrence Shilabula and the late Tabitha Vihenda. Loving husband to the late Leah Jendeka, Margaret Mutinya, Florence Vusolo, Agatha Khavayi and Janet Chepkemoi. Brother to the late Asingwa, John, the late Queen, Gladys, the late Shisili, Boniface and Florence. A loving Dad to 48 children, Grandfather to 78 Grandchildren and I Great-Grandson, Gift.

A fundraising will be held on Thursday 27th May, 2021at his home in Mahyakalo Village.

The cortege will leave Kakamega County Funeral Parlor on Friday 28th May 2021 for requiem mass to be held at Shikulu Primary School ground on Saturday 29th May, 2021, thereafter for burial at his home at Mahyakalo Village, Mukango Sublocation, Shinyalu ubcounty in Kakamega County.

Beloved Mother to Teacher Phoebe Anyango Amwayo, Janet Sarah Akinyi Ouma, the late James Aggrey Gumba, Pamela Atieno Midianga, Mary Awuor Juma, Bishop Collins Agingu, Willis Otieno Agingu, Gordon Agingu, Nellie Jane Orwa Lester and Doris Christine Barker and spiritual mother to many, many more.

The Memorial Service will be held at ACK St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Kisumu on Wednesday 2nd June 2021, followed by burial at her home in Ratta sub-location East Seme, Kisumu county, on the same day.

There will be a fundraising on 26th May 2021 at Wagon Wheel Hotel Eldoret and at his home Karel Lukuget Sub-location.

The cortege leaves Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital on Friday 28th May, 2021 at 2.00pm, for overnight Vigil I at his home.The burial will take place on 29th May, 2021, at Karel – Marakwet East Sub-county, Elgeiyo Marakwet County.

She was the last-born daughter of Dr. Nyagwoko Keriga and Teresa Bosibori. Sister to Dr. Bisase Moraa, Keriga Manwa and Dr. Kemunto Misega. She leaves behind a daughter Yuri Bosibori Wakesho.

There will be a fundraising towards funeral expenses at Nairobi Central SDA Church — Maxwell old sanctuary on Wednesday 26th May, 2021 from 5.00pm.

The funeral service shall be held at ltierio grounds, Kisii County on Friday 28th May, 2021, at 10:00am and later laid to rest at her rural home.

Loving and beloved father to Late Joseph Njoroge, Mary & Wambugu Kemoche, Hellen & George Akello, Peter and Asha Mwaura, Samuel & Ann Njoroge, the late Paul Ndungu and the late Michael Mburu. Devoted “Guka” to Kevin & Grace Kemoche, Zane Kemoche, Nina Kemoche; James & Elizabeth Akello,Arnold & Maua Akello, Clive Akello and Douglas Akello, Peitra Mwaura, Regius Mwaura, Andrew Njoroge and Rebecca Njoroge. A very dear great grandfather to Aika Hellen Akello.

James was a staunch Catholic who devotedly served Gatura Catholic Parish, a career finance professional who begun his career at Standard Chartered Bank, later joined Central Bank of Kenya, Kenya National Trading Company (KNTC) and Nzoia Sugar Company where he later retired and pursued business and farming. He enjoyed supporting his friends and business partners with accounting services and advice for many years after his retirement from active employment. A deeply philosophical man who was committed to serving the church.
