It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of John Paul Ngelesa Ngolovoi, which occurred on Monday 10th May 2021 at Wote Hospital, Makueni County.

John Ngelesa was born in 1939 as the Last born Son to the late Ngolovoi Ndolo and Racheal Ngolovoi. Loving husband of Jacqueline Anne Ngolovoi. Father of Michael Ngolovoi, Maryanne Syowia, Patricia Nzisa and Peter Kitavi. Brother of the late Lucia Muthikwa Muendo, the late Kamanda Ngolovoi and the late William Kisuli Ngolovoi.

Brother-in-law of Joseph Muema Nzioka, Rose W. Mainge and Margaret Muema. Father-in-law of Arthur Mwaniki, Christine Ngolovoi, Christopher Gitonga and Amber Kitavi. He had 9 grandchildren namely Kevin, Jazmine, Jacyln, Ian, Jayden, Soren, Camden, Christopher and Erik.

The burial will be on Wednesday 19th May, 2021, at his farm at Makueni County, Wote Sub-county in Malivani village. The cortege leaves Makueni Funeral home at 8:30am and hereafter burial service at their home.

May his soul rest in peace till we meet again.

Son of the late Ngunjiri Waithaka and the late Susan Wangui. Husband of Doris Mukami. Father of Ibrahim Ngunjiri and Jane Gathoni, James Ndirangu and Esther Wangui, Ernest Waithaka and Alice Mweru, Joseph Kihara and Cecily Muthoni, Joseph Michira, the late Sisto Muhiato and Ruth Wanjiku. Father-in-law of the late Juliana Wangui. Brother of the late Tabitha Wamahiga, the late Elishiba Muthoni, the late Ernest Waithaka, the late Nelson Michira, Joyce Nyawira, the late Isaac Nderitu and Peris Nyaruita. Uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather to many.

Family and friends will be meeting at his home Kiandu and online due to covid 19 restrictions.

The cortege leaves Consolata Hospital Mathari – Nyeri, on Wednesday 19th May, 2021 at. 8.00am. The funeral service will start at 10.00am at the family home in Unjiru Sub-location (Kiandu Village) Karundu Location Tetu Sub-county, Nyeri County

Loving wife of the late Reuben Gakuo Gathumbi. Caring mother of Mary Nyambura Maina, Moses Mwangi Gakuo, the late Peter Gachungu Gakuo, Julia Njoki Warirah, Wallace Chege Gakuo, Benjamin Njuki Gakuo, Alice Waruguru Irungu and Edward Irungu Gakuo.

Mother -in-law of the late Nelson Maina, Esther Nyambura Mwangi, Martha Wambui Gathungu, the late FelixWarirah, Monicah Wacuka Chege, Hellen Muthoni Njuki, the late Nicholas Irungu, Lilian Karungari Irungu and Dr. Jane Njeri. She was Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother to many.

The cortege leaves Montezuma and Monalisa Funeral Home along Thika – Kenol Road at Kabati at 8:00am on 18th May 2021. Her funeral service will be held at her home in Githunguri Village, lyego Location, Kangema sub-county, Murang’a County, beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow thereafter at the same place. All Ministry of Health (MoH) protocols will be observed.

Friends and relatives are meeting online for the funeral arrangements.

It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mzee Christopher Kipkemoi Arap Rugutt, which occurred on Thursday, 13th May 2021 at Central Hospital, Kericho.

Mzee Rugutt was born in 1937 as the first born son to Kipkerio Arap Mitei (Kong’etyony) and Taprantich Mitei(Cheugoi) at Karabwet village, currently Chagaik estate. He was beloved husband to the late Sarah Rugutt, the late Tapsagaa Rugutt and Linner Chepngetich Rugutt. Father to Kericho Governor, H.E. Prof. Paul Chepkwony, Peter Chepkwony, Simon Rugutt (KTDA), Agnes Rono (Chepseon), Emmaculate Chepkemoi (Chepseon), Nicholas Chepkwony and Mathew Chepkwony.

Brother to the late Kipkones Kerio, the late Tapsagaa, Joseph Rugutt, Samuel Kerio, and Esther Baliach. He was step brother to Christopher Rugutt, the late Stephen Kerio, the late George Kerio, Simeon Rugutt, Wilson Kerio and the late Richard Rugutt. Father in law to Lydia, Janet, Jeniffer, Linner, Nancy, Winny, Gilbert, Maureen and Bernard. He was blessed with grand and great grandchildren.

The cortege leaves Central Hospital Kericho Mortuary on Sunday, 16th May 2021 for burial at their Sumeiyon home, Kapkugerwet ward, Ainamoi Sub County.

Stephen Kinyanjui Kirogo, chairman of the Public Service Commission

Stephen Kinyanjui Kirogo, the debonair and diplomatic career civil servant and chairman of the Public Service Commission, has died after a long stoic battle.

He was a long serving administrator with solid credentials and a track record of public service spanning over thirty years. His appointment as Chairperson of the Public Service Commission in August 2018 capped an illustrious career that began in 1984 as an Assistant Secretary in the Office of the President.

Prior to his appointment as PSC Chairperson, Mr. Kirogo was the Principal Administrative Secretary/Assistant Secretary to the Cabinet in the Presidency and Cabinet Affairs Office since 2012.

He rose steadily through the ranks of the civil service from humble beginnings as Assistant Secretary, District Officer, District Commissioner, Senior Assistant Secretary, Undersecretary, Deputy Secretary/Personal Assistant to Head of the Public Service, Secretary to the State Corporations Advisory Committee and finally to the position of Principal Administrative Secretary/Assistant Secretary to the Cabinet. Mr. Kirogo is the Chairman of the Board of Management of Ndururumo Secondary School in Laikipia County, member of the Board of Bahati Girls High School in Nakuru County and Vice Chairman of the Anglican Church of Kenya Parish Council.

He is a Fellow of the Public Relations Society of Kenya and a member of the Public Service Club among other professional and community organisations. These positions and memberships, coupled with his long public service career, have enabled him to positively impact the lives of many people across the country.

He is passionate about improving productivity in the public service through the implementation of a measurable performance management framework that is underpinned by values and ethical conduct, performance culture and value for money. In recognition of his immense contribution to public service, Mr. Kirogo was awarded the Order of the Elder of the Burning Spear (EBS) and the Order of the Chief of the Burning Spear (CBS) by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya.

Mr. Kirogo holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Development from Inoorero University.

He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations and Communications from Kenyatta University. He has attended many trainings, workshops and seminars locally and abroad.

Simon was a beloved son to Margret Kagure Gichuki, loving husband to Tabitha Muthoni Maina, and a caring father to Trevor Gichuki Maina, Precious Wairimu Maina and Baby Blessing Wangari Maina.

He was Brother to James Gichuki Kagure and Samuel Ndungu Kagure (Major). Son in-law to, Beatrice Wangari.

Brother in-law of Elizabeth Wangechi and Michael Irungu. Nephew of Teresa, Ngunjiri, Simon, Late Charles, Late Elizabeth, Patrick Gichohi, Ndungu Rukwaro, Miriam Theuri, Sarah Rukwaro among others.

Uncle to Gibson, Walter, Gradwell, Margret, Ann, Collins, Edwin, Francis, Beth and ciru. Cousin’s to: John, Wanjiru, Stanley, Ann, Stephen, Mwangi, Wangondu, Njambi, Rukwaro’s among others.

Simon was a treasured friend and colleague to many.

The cortege leaves Consolata Mathari Hospital Mortuary on Saturday, 15th May, 2021 for requiem service at Gituiga Primary School in Nyeri County Othaya Sub-location, Mahiga West and thereafter burial will take place at his Mother’s home in Gituiga.
