It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance we announce the sudden demise of our family matriarch Margaret Murugi Gicharu, following a very short illness on 2nd December, 2020.

Daughter of the late Lawrence Gicharu Kangethe and Ruth Njeri Gicharu. Mother of Sarah Wangui and Robert Matoya, Allan Joseph Mweru, Solomon Gicharu and Emmah Njeri. Sister of Joseph Kangethe, the late Pius Kariuki, Kabati Gicharu, Nicholas Mwaura, James Mwangi, Lucy Wanjira, the late Andrew Mahiuha and Thomas Njoroge. Doting Grandmother of Ben, David, Alexis, Tess, Myles, Dahlia, Isabella and Allan.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa Kenol, opposite Shell Petrol Station Kabati on 10/12/2020 at 8.00am. Funeral service will be held at Gatanga Catholic Church thereafter the body will be laid to rest at her home in Mabanda village, Gatanga, Murang’a County.

Husband of Mary Wangui Ndungu. Brother of the late Komu Njoroge, Waceke Njoroge and Mary Nyambura Kamau. Father of Gichuhi Ndung’u (Chairman Kiama Kiama, Gatundu North), Peter S. Njoroge Ex Standard Chartered Bank (Procom Computer Tech Ltd, Chemi Chemi Spotz Lounge, Kiambu) Margret Njeri Macharia (Rtd Teacher, Kanjuku Primary School).

Father-in-law of Christine Wangeci Gichuhi, Damaris Nyambura Njoroge and Anthony Macharia K. Gathata. Grandfather of Joseph Ndungu Gichuhi, Diana Wangui Wahinya, Edward Burugu, Joseph Ndungu Njoroge, Valentine Wangui Njoroge, Jenifer Wangui Macharia, Hannah Kabura, Everlyne Waithera, Theresia Wambui, Irene Wairimu, Caroline Waceke, Lyne Wanjiru Macharia, Maria Mugure and Great grandfather of many.

Friends and relatives are meeting for funeral arrangements at his home Kamwangi Village every day from 2.00pm. The cortege leaves General Kago Road Funeral Home, Thika on Friday 11th December, 2020 at 8:00am, for funeral service at AIPCA Kamwangi Church and thereafter burial at his home next to Deputy Commissioners Office Gatundu North Sub-county in compliance with MOH COVID19 Protocols.

Father of Lawrence Irungu, Margaret Wangari Kariri, Benson and Jane Wandurwa, Joseph Mwangi and Lilian Njeri. Son-in-law of the late Lawrence Irungu and Lilian Njeri Karungu. Brother of Joseph Mwangi, the late Peter Chege and James Njeru. Grandfather of John Munyoroku Irungu, Ben Wandurwa, Lewis Kamau, Eglah Waruguru, Serlyan Mumbi, Rayne Wangari Bilha Wamuyu, Eglah Waruguru Mbao and Eglah Waruguru Njeri and John Munyoroku Mwangi.

Friend and family are meeting at his home in Kamagoko Village, Kairo Sub-location, Muranga County. The cortege leaves Kiriaini Mission Hospital, on 10th December, 2020 for a Church service at St. John Church, Kamagoko at 10.00am, for burial at his home in Kamagoko Village, Mathioya in Murang’a County.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing on of John Luchiri Wesonga that occurred on 1st of December, 2020 at Busia District Hospital.

Husband of Pascalia Luchiri. Father of Joseph, Paul (Nation Media Group), Tabitha, Ruth, Samuel, Moses, David, Lydia, Miriam, Ezekiel, Priscilla and Rebecca. He has left behind 23 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

The body is at Butula Mortuary. The cortege will leave Butula Mortuary, on 9th December 2020 at 9.00am. He will be laid to rest on the same day in Eshilumbwe Sub-location, Matungu Sub-county, Kakamega.

We love you Daddy.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the home going of Mr. Henry Muriuki Mwaniki, which occurred on Friday 4th December 2020, following a short illness.

Cherished husband to Dr. Plan. Bernadette Wanjiru Mwaniki. The most loved father of Kui and Ian Grindlay, Henry and Sia Mwaniki, Jonathan and Sheila Mwaniki. A cherished grandfather of Alaina, Kiikari and Kirama.

Son of the late James Mwaniki Kamaara and the late Phyllis Wangui Mwaniki. Son in-law to the late Paxson Kamau Muchunu and the late Beth Wambui Kamau.

Brother to the late Onesmus and Elishiba Kamara, Margaret and George Wainaina, Anthony and Grace Waweru, Raphael and Teresea Mutugi, Simon and the late Anne Murimi, Irene and Daniel Gachui. Brother-in-law to the late John and Jane Muchunu, Rosemary and the late David Waithaka, the late Nathan Ngonjo, Anne and Sammy Kahuro, Evanson and Mary Githinji, Joyce and Prof. Kinandu Muragu, Elijah and Cecilia Karagu, Mercy and Dr. Macharia Kamweya, Julia and Thomas Kinandu, Joan and Maina Muhuthia.

He was a cousin, uncle, grandfather and friend to many.

Prayer meetings in Nairobi will be held at All Saints’ Cathedral Church on Tuesday 8th, Wednesday 9th and Friday 11th December 2020, from 5.30pm. Funeral preparations in Mukinduri, Kirinyaga County will be held daily at the family home from 3pm.

There will be a Requiem Mass on Thursday, 10th December 2020, at St. Austin’s Parish, within St. Mary’s School grounds, Lavington from 3pm.

The Burial Mass shall be held at Mukinduri School on Saturday, 12th December 2020 from 10.30am.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved Grace Anyango Oliyo who went to be with the Lord on the 26th November, 2020 at 8.00 p.m. at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital in Kisumu after a long illness. She hailed from Karariw Village, Siriwo Sub Location, Central Gem, Siaya.

Daughter to the late Wellington Waga and the late Silivia Waga of Gem Kanyikwaya, Sinderma Village, Central Gem, Siaya. Daughter in-law to the late Haggai Ochola and the late Christabel Ochola. She was beloved wife to the late Mwalimu Gordon Oliyo Ochola. Mother to Joab, Alice, Eunice, Christabel, Jael, Erick, Dorothy, Joyce, Betty, Victor and Emily.

Mother in-law to Phoebe and Joyce, sister to Richard, Margaret, George, Monica, Rossy and Susan. Step sister to Phelgon, Mark, Arthur, Sam and Betty.

Sister In law to Rose, Edwin, Barak, Monica, Ambrose, Helen, Millicent, Phelgon, Mary and Barbra. She has left behind several grand children.

The body is lying at Sagam Community Hospital Mortuary.

The body leaves Sagam Mortuary for a Church Service at Masogo ACK, Nyawara Parish on 10th December, 2020 and thereafter proceeds to her home in Karariw for a night Vigil. The burial will take place on 11th December, 2020.

May her soul rest in peace.

It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that the Consolata Missionaries announce the passing on to glory of Rev. Fr Charles Jjagwe IMC, on December 4, 2020 at Mp Shah Hospital after a short illness.

Until his death, Fr Jjagwe was the parish priest of St. Aloysius Gonzaga Wamba Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Maralal. He hailed from Michunda Village, Masaka District in the Southern Province of Uganda. He was the son of the late Vincent Ssebuggwawo and Paskazia Nakanwagi.

Fr Charles was an exemplary missionary, a loving pastor and an attentive listener who knew how to welcome all with a lot of compassion and love.

A requiem Mass will be held at Consolata Shrine Westlands on Wednesday December 9, 2020 at 2.00 pm.

The funeral Mass and burial will be at the Consolata Cemetery in Mathari, Nyeri on Thursday December 10, 2020 from 11.00 am.

May the Lord rest his soul in eternal peace.

Fr Charles, you have run the race to the end.

May the good Lord reward you with favour for the love you had for his flock.

Mother of Pauline Kea Kyovi, Jones Isika, Titus Mutisya, Julius Wambua, Dennis Mbuvi and Moses Katung’u. Mother-in-law of John Kyovi. Grandmother of Bertilia, Benard, Emmanuel and Esther. Beloved of many.

Funeral service and burial will take place at Msulwa village, Kwale County on Wednesday 9th December 2020.

Elder Karanja was a dear husband to Elizabeth Karanja, devoted father to Charles & Rosemary Karanja (UK), James Karanja (Nairobi Water Co.) & Racheal Mwangi, Felix & Katherine Wambui Gitonga (USA), Benjamin & Mumbi Gachie and an adorable Guka to Giovanni, Abraham (AJ), Jaba and Sam. He was the son of the late Peter Karwimbo Njiiri and the late Wambui Karanja, brother to Mr Eliud Njiiri and Mrs Beth Wanjeri Njiiri, Mr Jamleck Kiana and Mrs Lydia Wambui Kiana, Mr Raphael Kibuchi and Mrs Rose Wanjiku Kibuchi, and the late ELkid Marite and Mrs Jecinta Wanja Marite.

Son in law to the late Stanley Mukigi and the late Mary Wambui. Brother in law to Mr and Mrs Kamithi, Mr and Mrs Jimmy Mukigi, the late Peter Kimando and Mrs Ann Kimando and Mrs Lucy Kimando, the late Timothy Mukigi and Mrs Jane Mwangi, the late David Mukigi and Mrs Jane Waithanji, Mr and Mrs John Kiaraho, the late Solomon Nguyo and Mrs Jane Nguyo, Mr Stephen Maina and Margaret Mwangi.

Family and friends are meeting at P.C.E.A. St. Andrews Church, Nairobi from Monday, December 7, 2020 to Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 5:30pm to 6.30pm strictly.

The Funeral Service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 9:00 am at P.C.E.A. St Andrews Church. He will be laid to rest thereafter at his home in Mairi, Ikohokoho, Muranga County. Ministry of Health Covid-19 protocols will be observed.

Grandson of the late John Robert Ochola and the late Hulda, Julius Okong’o and Hellen Okong’o of Uranga. Nephew of Dr. Lawrence Okong’o and Moses Odhiambo.

The cortege leaves Ombo Mission Hospital, Migori, on 09/12/2020 and burial will take place on 10/12/2020 at Kowino village, Kamser Lieta in Karachuonyo, Homa-Bay County.
