Sister in law of Roseline Salil, Michael Bor, Claire, Tom Metto, Faith Kibet, Mr. Martin. Auntie of Sharleen (USA), Jerry (USA), Harry, Sherry, Brenda, Clinton, Stacy, Tracy, Rehema, Mishell, Nicole, Lucina, Shawn, Darrel, Marley, Madison, Maxi, Imani, Kich, Chantel and Shawin.

The cortege leaves Nairobi today Friday 3rd April 2020. Prayers will be held at her home Racecourse at 4PM the same day. Burial will be held on Saturday 4th April 2020 starting from 11AM at her home Racescourse, Uasin Gishu County.

Father of Josphat Kaunyangi, Charity Henry, Zipporah Kaburu, Solomon Kaindio, Martha Nkirote, Justus Mwiti, Kagendo Kariithi and Mwari Andrew.

Father-in-law of Mary Kaunyangi, Henry Mutuma, Charles Kaburu, Lena Kaindio, Karithi Mungania, Mwendwa Mwiti and Andrew Juma. Grandfather of Mugambi, Mwendwa, Kajuju, Mukiri, Mutwiri, Edna, Gitonga, the late Muthoni, Kathure, Thuranira, Makena, Kagwiria, Muthuri, Gatwiri, Mukami, Mwende, Morgan, Kathomi, Muthomi, Caleb, Mutharimi, Joshua, Israel, Mark and Sean. Had eight Great Grandchildren. Uncle and friend to many.

The cortege leaves Maua Methodist Hospital Mortuary on Saturday, 4th April, 2020 for burial at his -Atubanthea farm, lgembe North in Meru County.

The Raval and Acharya families sadly announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Girish Narayan Raval, at his home in London on March 27, 2020.

Cherished husband of Meena (over 52 years), beloved father to Deven (Asha), Nishma (Sunil Acharya) and loving grandfather to Anjalina, Shailen, Samir, and Viraj. Adoptive father to Cecil G Miller (Amina Miller) and grandfather to Rowan, Samira, Dylan and Rania Miller. He will be immensely missed by his extended family, many friends and colleagues.

Born in Nairobi, Kenya on 16th November 1942, Girish moved his family to London, England in 1973, where he founded GJ Traders, a supplier of custom attire to clients worldwide. Anyone that knew Girish, would know that he was a loyal, avid and vocal supporter of his country of birth. Visiting often over the years and being a founding member of the Kenya Society in London, since its inception in 1989. He was most recently awarded the esteemed position of Vice Patron, for his outstanding and exceptional contributions to the Kenyan Society. Girish was a very social and gregarious man, enjoying helping where he could, which included since his retirement becoming an active member of the Rotary Club of Westminster – West. He held the role of both President and Treasurer on numerous occasions. were he actively encouraged and thrived in helping, coaching and mentoring others through amazing charity events, fund raisers and active dialog.

Girish was a man of impeccable style; he would usually be one of the best dressed men in the room. He took immense pride in his appearance, down to the matching ties and pocket square he wore, to his cufflinks and always shiny, polished shoes. His presence would always fill the room during gatherings. He loved cricket and very much enjoyed rallying, having been involved with NISMO and the East African Safari Rally through the years. He had a great sense of humour and his source of joy was always joking with his grandchildren. His eyes would light up and a smile would take over his face, when seeing or speaking to anyone of them. His legacy will continue through them.

As quoted from the Bhagavad Gita: “For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time…. he is unborn, eternal, ever existing and primeval”. As his soul continues its journey to the Divine, and we say farewell, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives and cherish he memories he has left behind.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Eng. Maurice Barasa Namiinda of GIBB International Limited, which occurred on the 26th of March 2020, after a short illness bravely borne.

Son of the late Joseph Khisa and the late Frida Namung’oma of Kimalewa. Loving husband of Mary Naliaka Namiinda. Adoring father of Esther Namiinda (formerly of Kenya Airways, Business Owner), Anne Nasimiyu (NBK), Elizabeth Nekesa (Emirates, UAE), Susan Mukite (Consultant Actuary), Winnie Namung’oma (UNHCR, Egypt), Eng. Joseph Khisa (Mara Conservancy) and Enos Wekesa (JKUAT).

Grandfather of Eva Maria and Christoffer Opdal. Brother of the late Priscilla Nafula, Nicholas Khisa (Muliro Sec.), Edward Khisa (Marinda Sec.), Pauline Wanyonyi (Mapela Sch.), Paul Wanjala, Protus Khisa (Kilimo House), Margaret Koinange (Principal, Sosiot Sec.), David Wafula and Celestine Nasambu. Father-in-law of Endre Opdal (Hotel Online) and Ambrose Ojiambo (National Treasury). Son-in-law of the late Wilson Mafura and Sabina Namasakha. Uncle and cousin of many.

Funeral arrangements are ongoing at his home in Kitale and Nairobi.

Daughter of the late Jathan Kibutu Kararu and the late Lisa Mwarania Kibutu. Mother of John Mwaniki, Elijah Kibutu (UK), Mary Mwarania, Gladys Kanyeria (UK) and Lucy Mumbi. Grandmother of Mike Nderitu, Anthony Mwariri, Belinda Wangui, Mark Thuo, Tiffany Wangui, Bethany Wamaitha, Joy Wanjiru, Joan Wangui, Lizz Wanjiku and Mercy Wanjiru. Mother-in-law of Faith Waithiegeni (UK), John Thuo (UK) and Douglas Mwariri. Sister of the late John Kararu, the late Paul Mahehu, the late James Theuri, the late Peter Thagana, the late Josephine Kanyeria, the late Samuel Mwara and the late Daniel Karuria.

The cortege leaves Karatina District Hostipal Mortuary on Saturday 4th April 2020 at 8AM. The funeral service and burial will take place on the same day at her Gatung’ang’a farm from 9AM.

It is with great sorrow that the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi wishes to announce the passing on to glory of their beloved Archbishop Emeritus, His Grace Raphael Simon Ndingi Mwana a’ Nzeki, which occurred on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Mater Hospital.

Archbishop Ndingi was born on December 25, 1931 at Myanyani Sub location, Mwala location, Machakos County as the last born to the late Mzee Joseph Nzeki Ngila and Mama Maria Muthoki Nzeki. His siblings were: Paul Muli Nzeki, Veronica Kavenge Kioko, Ann Muluu Mulile, Teresia Katunge Nthuli, Ndeto Nzeki, Kamulo Nzeki, Philip Mwania Nzeki (alive) and Mutisya Nzeki. Brother in law to: Wayua, Mutila Muli, Kioko Mwalimu, Nthuli Ing’eti, Mulile Mutiso among others. Cousin to: Musyoka Kieti, Muema Ndolo, Kavii Kilavu, Mueni Kamami, Kathoki,Yula,Anthony Nzonzi, among others.

Uncle to: Mbai Muli, Musyoki Muli, Michael Mutua, Anthony Kitheka, Dominic Kioko, Simon Kioko (USA), Raphael Kanyele, Joseph Nzeki, Nthikwa Muli, Chritine Ndinda, Margaret Mwikali, Paulina Mboka, Koki,Mukonyo among others. Great Grandfather to: Sebastian Kioko, Sr Carol Kyalo, Richard Ngila, Anna Mutila, among others. Great Great Grandfather to: Joachim Ndingi, Mbithe Mbithi,Wayua Kivuva, Robert Mutua, Muriithi Mutua among others. He was also a mentor and benefactor to many more.

He was ordained priest on January 1, 1961 in Kabaa Parish, Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi by the late J.J McCarthy then the Archbishop of Nairobi and later appointed Bishop of Machakos in May 29, 1969. 0n 30th January 1972, he was installed as the Bishop of Nakuru where he served until his appointment as the coadjutor Archbishop of Nairobi on 13th August 1996. On 21st June 1997, Bishop Ndingi succeeded Maurice Michael Cardinal Otunga till his retirement on 6th October 2007. In 2019, Archbishop Emeritus Ndingi Mwana a’ Nzeki celebrated his Golden jubilee anniversary as a Bishop. Priests are requested to continue offering private Mass for the repose of his soul.

The funeral of the late Archbishop Emeritus Ndingi Mwana a’ Nzeki will be on Tuesday, 7th April 2020. The requiem Mass starts at 10.00am and thereafter he will be buried at the crypt in the Holy Family Minor Basilica. NB: The burial is by invite only

Ndingi Mwana’a Nzeki following his demise on the 30th of March 2020.

The late Archbishop is our Founding Trustee who inspired us to give young men and women a chance in life through education. Since 2009 his example and message continue to be our light beacon.
