Son of the late ex-chief Muhindi Kariithi and the late Ruth Gathoni Muhindi. Husband of Jane Mukami Kibocha. Father of Martin Muhindi ( Kenya Police Force, Molo), Dr. Richard Muraya (Ceva Animal Health, Kenya) and Kelvin Kariithi (Mt. Kenya University). Father-in-law of Mercy Nell and Elizabeth Murugi. Beloved husband of Lucy Mshai, Father of Eva, Daniel, Juma, Kimari, Abigael and Mary. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on of Mr James Boaz Muga which occured on Sunday of 30/04/2017.

James was born in 1942 in Kano Tura to Joseph Mindet Sombe and Sylvia Odanga Mindet. He was the fourth born and brother to Grace Onyang Juma, Risper Akeyo, Onyango Mindet, Jennifer Ajuano, Mary Acholla, John Okoth, Karen Nyadiero and Doris Oloude.

James attended Onjiko Primary where he sat for his KAPE which he passed. He did not proceed to secondary school due to fee challenges but that did not dampen his spirits for he later enrolled and studied through correspondence and self sponsoring to attain his degree in communication.

He started by enrolling at London GCE for a certificate in sales and marketing which he did through correspondence.

Later, he sat for a diploma in sales and marketing which he also passed. Much later he enrolled for a degree in communication at Daystar. He also undertook leadership training at Haggai Institute (USA) and in Germany.

FAMILY

He married the late Margaret Dorothy Gogo and Alice Martha Atieno and were blessed with children namely the late Isaac Omondi, Roselyne Amijee, Beatrice Achieng, Noah Muga, Evelyne Atieno, Mary Achieng, the late Jean Mulenga, the late Lawi Ojuka and Issac Omondi Muga.

He was a father in law to Kaleem Amijee, Pauline Ochieng, John Simbiri and Sarah Adhiambo. Grandfather to James Muga, Recca Amijee, Vivian Amijee Mohamed ,Alifia, Yvonne Adhiambo, Kevin Otieno, Roselyne Adhiambo, Amanda Akinyi and Israel Hawi.

CAREER AND EMPLOYMENT

After his KAPE James got employed at the East African Railways as a trainee foreman from where he rose to the rank of yardmaster. He later joined Evangel Publishing House as a sales representative and rose to become manager from Evangel Publishing ,he moved to Booksales (K) Ltd after which he joined World Vision (K) as a project coordinator Western.

ILLNESS

James was diabetic and for a long time managed his condition by following his doctor’s instructions through prescribed medicine and diet.

Around February of last year, he fell ill again and has been in and out of various Hospitals. In mid April 2017 he got admitted to St. Camillas mission Hospital after he complained of pain in his legs causing swelling of the lower limbs and the stomach which rendered him immobile.

This went on for 3 weeks till the Sunday of 30/04/2017 when his condition deteriorated and he finally passed away.

It’s with deep sorrow and regret that we announce the unexpected passing of one of our Kenyan brothers based in Berlin.

Eric Omondy Okuma, a resident of Berlin was in 2015 diagnosed with Lymphoma, a form of cancer that affects the immune cells (lymphocytes). Since his diagnosis, he was forced to seek treatment at several hospitals but his condition luckily remained stable until three weeks ago, when he collapsed on his way to the supermarket. He was rushed to hospital where he had to undergo an emergency brain surgery. He unfortunately was too weak to take up any further treatment and was instead transferred to a hospice where he succumbed peacefully in his sleep on May 3rd.He leaves behind a wife and children.
