Prayer meetings are being held daily at her residence in Buruburu Phase 5 House No. 599. There will be a Requiem mass on Wednesday, 15th February at Blessed Sacrament Church, Buruburu at 2.30pm. A Fundraiser will be held on the same day at Professional Centre from 5pm.

The cortege leaves Umash Mortuary on Thursday at 2pm for her residence for an overnight vigil from 7.30pm. On Friday, the body leaves for Nyakach, Gem-Rae. Burial will be on Saturday, 18th February at her homestead.

She has fought a good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. In god’s hands you rest, in our hearts you live forever. Amen.

The cortege leaves Bishop Okoye Funeral Home Thika on 15/02/2017 at 9am followed by a requiem mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church Thika at 10am. Sister of the late Esther Kirigo, Jackson Kihuha, the late Eliah Ngima Kaguamba, Loise Wangari Magondu, Ann Waguthi Ndegwa and Amos Muriithi. She was “Aunty Gakenia” of many other people to whom she had no relation whatsoever. She was an institution.

Prayer meetings will take place at her home in Karen on 14th & 15th February 2017 at 4pm while the funeral service is scheduled for 10am at Karen PCEA Church on Saturday 18th February 2017. Internment at her Ngong Farm will follow thereafter.

Aunty Gakenia will be fondly remembered as a loving, doting mother and fiercely loyal and protective friend.
