Esther Wairimu Munyua

It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we give glory and honour to God for the life of Esther Wairimu Munyua who has slept in Christ after a short illness on 3rd March 2017.

Daughter of the late Gathagu Rubua and the late Leah Warigia Gathagu. Wife of the late Geoffrey Muntua Githegi. Mother if Christopher Muciri, Naomi Orina, Charles Gathagu, Peter Mwangi, Moses Kariuki and the late Lucy Njoki. Sister of Muhindi, late Muchemi and Mureithi. Grandmother of Tony, Brian, Collins, Wairimu, Ronaldo, David, Jimmy, Susan, Jenny, Eddy, Simon, Sadra and Mumbi among others. A loving grandmother of five, aunt, and friend of many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her home in Kaburaini, Naromoru, for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Nanyuki mortuary on Thursday 9th March 2017 at 8.00am for a funeral service and burial thereafter at her rural, home in Kaburaini, Nyeri County.

Wife of the late Karumba Rumba. Mother of Paul Kagume Karumba (Nairobi), Grace Gathoni Karumba, John Nduura and the late Joseph Wakaritu and Peter Gikandi. Sister of the late John Nduura, Muraguri Wakaritu and Lydia Gathoni. Mother in law of Grace Gathoni Kagume, Rose Karumba and the late Sophia Micere. Grandmother of Elizabeth Gachambi Mugweru, Julia Wanja (Nanyuki), Benson Karumba Kagume (Embakasi), Elizabeth Wangu Kagume (Thika Technical), Sheila Njambi Wakaritu (Nairobi), Terry Njambi Nduura, Gaius Karumba Rumba, Vennesa Njambi Gikandi and Kennedy Karumba. Great grandmother of Risper Gathoni Mugweru (Gatugi Girls), Felix Ciuma Mugweru, Jayden Kagume Karumba and Mylyn Favour Wangari.

Family and friends are meeting daily at the Family Home, Gitima-ini Village from 4pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Jamii Hospital Mortuary Karatina on Friday 10th March 2017 at 8.30am followed by a memorial service to be held at Gitima-ini AIPCA Church from 10.30am and burial thereafter at the family home Gitima-ini Village, neighbouring the D.O’s office.

He was a retired Agricultural Officer of Thunguri Village, Iriani Location, Othaya sub-County, Nyeri County on 27th February 2017 at Othaya Sub County Hospital.

Son of the late Tirus Wambugu Kahiga and the late Monica Murugi Wambugu. Husband of Teresa Wangeci Johnna and Veronica Wambui Johnna. Father of Tirus, Wainaina (Central Hardware Gikomba) Murugi (Capital Hardware Gikomba), Ndirangu (Captain), Wanjiku, Kamuyu, Kahigai, Muthoni, Wanjiru, Wangari, Wanjira, Njoki, Kimondo, Wambugu, Kimita, Nyokabi and Mathenge. Brother of the late Simon Kahiga, Jacinta Kamuyu Njuguna (Elburgon), Joshua Kimita (Jua Kali), James Gatero and Mary Wanjiru of the National Irrigation Board – Nairobi. Uncle of David Ng’ang’a of Safaricom, Maina, Nyambura, Monica and Ndathe of Delta Oil. The cortege leaves Mukurwe-ini Hospital Mortuary on Wednesday 8th March 2017 at 8am, to his home followed by burial thereafter.

The first born son of James Kinuthia of UNC, Haiti, and Faith Kinuthia of Zimmerman. Cherished brother of Alex Kamau Kinuthia and Alice Joy Njoki of Phileo Kindergaten Zimmerman. Grandson of Mr Richard Kamau and the late Mrs Alice Njoki Kamau of Kagaa, Kiambu; and the late Mr Francis Kamau Muthiori and Rosemary Muthoni of Kiaguthu, Murang’a. He was a nephew, cousin and friend to many.
