It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Professor Francis Mwaura Mwega on the 28th of February 2017 after a short illness. Professor Mwega worked as a Professor of Economics at the University of Nairobi. Son of the late Harun Mwega Karoki and Rachel Wanjiru Mwega; Son-in-law of the late Vincent Muchai and Teresia Wanjiku. Beloved husband of Mercy Wanjiru Mwaura and loving father of Anne Wanjiru Mwaura, Stephen Mwega Mwaura and Vincent Muchai Mwaura.

Brother of the late Veronica Njeri Kirima, Samuel Karoki Mwega, Joseph Wangai, the late Agnes Wanjiku Maina, Anastasia Gatimu, Stephen Thiong’o, John Kihiko, the late Anne Njeri, the late Samuel Karoki, Stephen Gitahi, Susan Nyambura, Ruth Wanja, Joseph Wangai and Loise Wanjiru. Uncle and cousin of many.

Family and friends are meeting at the following venues for prayers and funeral arrangements at 5.00 pm: Centre Pub, Gandhi Avenue Nairobi West (Between Barclays Bank and Kenchic), Kileleshwa Home, Lioki Home (Kiambu).

The requiem mass will take place on Tuesday 7th March 2017 at 10am at Holy Trinity Church, Kileleshwa.

The cortege leaves Chiromo Funeral Home on Wednesday 8th of March 2017 at 8am for funeral service at the grave site and burial on his farm in Kiambu.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Joyce Wangari on 26th February 2017. She worked at the University of Nairobi, Kikuyu Campus until her untimely demise.

Daughter of Ayub Kuria Mbogo and the late Keziah Wairimu. Sister of Elizabeth Ngamate, Loise, Nyambura and Margaret Wambui. Mother of Bernard Kuria, Joseph Mwangi and Stephene Njoroge. Grandmother of Samuel Waweru Kuria, Alex Mwangi Kuria, Shinaz Zuhura Mwangi, Bryanna Wangari Mwangi and Zawadi Wangari Mwangi.

Funeral arrangements are ongoing at Dandora. The cortege will leave Chiromo Mortuary at 10am on Wednesday 08/03/2017. She will be laid to rest on her farm in Mirera, Naivasha, on 8th March 2017.

Daughter of the late Benson Murigi Njuguna and late Ruth Njoki Murigi. Daughter in law of the late Roibae Waithaka and the late Nancy Waithira. Wife of the late Peter Githitu. Mother of Mercy Waithera Githitu. Sister of Rufus Njuguna, Margaret Gathoni, Jemmima Wanjiku, Naomi Njambi, Samuel Gakibe, Mwaura Murigi, Ann Wanjiru, Henry Njuguna, Ann Njeri, John Kamunya. Sister in law of Margaret Ng’endo and Mungai Kienjeru, the late Jacinta Nyambura and the late Wamaitha. Grandmother of Mark Moses Githitu and Myron Baraka Chege.

Family, friends and relatives are meeting daily at ACK Thika Memorial School ground at 7pm for prayers and funeral arrangements. The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home, Thika Road, on Wednesday 8th March 2017 at 7am for funeral service to follow at ACK St Andrew’s Cathedral Church Thika at 9.30am.

Burial service will proceed at her home in Mukurwe Village, Nyamangara sub-location, Mang’u Location Gatundu North Kiambu County.

Husband of Linnet Iminza Alobo. Son of Mr and Mrs William Indimuli of Ebukambuli Khushiku, Kisa Central. Brother of Olumba, Jacktone, Dorris, Merciline and Linnet. Son-in-law of Mr and Mrs David Alobo. Brother-in-law of Dr Moses Alobo, Gideon, Rev Alobo and Esther. Father of Joel, Phillip, Alice and Joshua.

The cortege will leave Lumboka hospital mortuary on 12nd March 2017 and taken to St. Chrispins ACK Church, Bungoma, for requiem mass. Burial service will be held on 4th March at KMTC grounds Bungoma from 9am, with the burial at his home in Kanduyi, Namuyemba Bungoma.
