Brother of the late Leonora Apondi Omollo, Victoria Awuor Maguke, the late Herenia Otieno and the late Gaudencia Omollo. The cortege leaves Masaba Hospital Mortuary Daraja Mbili on Friday 21st July 2017 at 10am for a requiem Mass at St. Sylvester church. Burial Mass will take place on Saturday 22nd July 2017 at Akala-Gem, Siaya County starting at 10am.

It is with great sadness that the family of Nicholas Biwott announce his death on I I July, 2017.

We give thanks to God for his life and the great love he bestowed on us as a husband. father, grandfather and great grandfather.

We will always remember with loving affection his wit and humour, and his ever-wise counsel.

We give thanks too for his life-long service to our country which exemplified extraordinary generosity as a friend and vision as a civil servant,  politician and statesman: his dedication to the people of Keiyo-Marakwet: the promotion of regional development his instrumental role in developing the energy and electrification infrastructure in Kenya: his promotion of tourism, including through the establishment of theTouristTrust Fund and the re-introduction of the East Africa Safari Rallies; his renegotiation of AGOA and his commitment to East African regional integration and co-operation.

We honour his outstanding achievements as a statesman, politician, farmer, entrepreneur and employer, including the building of some of Kenya’s first regional businesses.

We wish also to record with pride the great works that he undertook, which he personally held so dear.  In particular we remember his passionate commitment to the development of education in Kenya, particularly the education of girls, through the building of numerous schools; his tireless efforts over many years in the development of multiple health and medical service projects; his role in the establishment and development of the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI); and his many years of work and support for the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya of which he was a founding trustee.

He has left an extraordinary legacy for Kenya and its young enterprising talent.

The memorial service will be held today at AIC Milimani church (State House Rd) as from 10.00 am.The body will be flown to Toot Village tomorrow morning for viewing. The burial will then be held on Thursday the 20th of July at his home in Toot Village.

Daughter of the late Zakayo Wegulo and the late Anna Uluma of Navakholo, Kakamega.  Wife of the late Samuel Ondondo Muroka of Ebulakayi, Khwisero; beloved mother of   Arthur (UK.), Sharon (UK), Sheila (UK) and David Ondondo (Switzerland). Sister of Geoffrey Egessa, Maudy Navalayo, Zilpa Wawire, Mable Situma,  Prof. Francis Wegulo (Egerton University) and David Musi. Son of the late Mzee Kariuki Thuku, Flora Wanjiru Kariuki  and Felitilina Njeri Kariuki. Son-in-law of the late Simon Kariuki Ngunjiri and Grace Wangui Kariuki. Brother of the late Lawrence, Mary, Gregory, Richard, Benson, Lucy, late Teressa, Daniel, Rosemary, Samuel, Joseph, Boniface, Simon, Nancy and Peter.

l 3/07/2017 of Garden Estate following a short illness. He was a retired engineer
for Ministry of Works. ’

Husband of the late Pollah Nyakio Njau. Father of Milton Njau, Newton Mwangi
and Ndungu Warukira. Son of the late Stephen Njau Warukira and Priscilla
Wambui Njau. Brother of Serah Wanjiku, the late Geoffrey Warukira,’Esther

Mother of Margaret Ayuko, Theresa Atieno Ayuko, Francis Ayuko, the late Dr Michael Ouma Ayuko, Erastus Ayuko, Dr Vincent Ayuko, Paul Ayuko, Lillian Awino, Stanislaus Odhiambo, Faridah Atieno, Carolyn Adhiambo. Step mother of Vincensia Awino. Daughter of the late Andrew Ngi’idi and the late Maria Randiki Ahono. Sister of Peter Agutu Sister-in-law of the late Simon Otieno, Felista Apiyo, Mary Omondi, Ursula Oteng’ and Anne Weda. Aunt of Weda Welton, Shaban Otieno, Emily Chweya, John Otieno and Kennedy Otieno. Mother-in-law of Elizabeth Nganga and Betty Odhiambo. She had 16 grandchildren and 6 great grand children.

There will be a funeral service on Wednesday 26th July 2017 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Embakasi at 2.00 pm.

Burial will take place on Friday 28th July 2017 at Ramwoma village, Rapogi Location, Migori County at 11.00 am.
