We were humbled by your sharing in our grief. We are so deeply saddened at the shocking passing of our Mum and matriarch, the amiable, jovial, people-loving, Mrs. Anne Osure Okota Amolo, who was born on 9th January 1942 in Kano-Kolwa, Kisumu.

She was the second born in the family of the late Michael Okota and Dolphina Nyabala and loving wife of the lace Albert Amolo-Ochieng “Osiepna”, who passed on 22ndMarch 2015 after a short illness. Mama Jane, as she was fondly referred to, was the elder sibling of Angeline Adoyo, John Okota, Rose Gumba and George Okota and the late Teresa Migose, Alex Okota, Philister Oyimbo, Paul Awuonda and Bernadette Akumu Alila. She was the proud Mother of Wilfred Amolo, Director (HR &D), Min. of Int, &Cord, Correctional Services, Amb. Tom Amolo, MBS, Political and Diplomatic Secretary /Special Envoy, United Nations Security Council Campaign {Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Jane F. Otieno, Corporation Secretary & Head Legal Services, Kenya Maritime Authority Msa., Robert Amolo, FedEx, Atlanta, USA, Mary Amolo, Australian High Commission, Nairobi, the late Cathy Amolo, Dorothy Maina and Mike Amolo, Apple USA. She was mother-in-law of Anne, Caroline, Nosi, Simon, Sharon and Edward. Endearing grandmother of Sheila, Vanessa, Origa, Michael, Camille, Tshepo, Angela, Sango, Karl, Shaun, Maria, David, Daniel, Masego, Albert, Philip, Penzi, Hawi, Ben, Joseph, Keitumetse and Khumoetsile. Great Grandmother of Tyrin, Troy, Trevor, Bohlale and Kgosie born on Sunday 28th June 2020. Beloved Auntie of Pamela, Faith, Tom, Dolphina, Christine, Charles and several others, as well as many adoptive children and those she took under her maternal wing.

Mama, was a dedicated and industrious woman leader in Kabonyo sub-location, Kano location, Kisumu County. Her dedication to uplifting women elevated her passion to organize and participate in numerous women projects in the area. She was a staunch Catholic, an active member of the Blessed Annuarita and Catholic Women’s Association, South B, Nairobi, Mama then took on the role of treasurer at Our Lady of the Rosary, Nduru Catholic Church. She was always with her Rosary and closely involved in all church projects and activities. Recently, she dedicated a weeklong series of Masses for the United Nation Security Council non-permanent seat, commencing prayers at 3 a.m. daily. Under the saddest of circumstances, Mum passed on at Aga Khan Hospital after a brief illness, in Kisumu on Sunday 28thJune 2020.

Due to the gathering and travel restrictions currently in place, the family will be having an intimate burial ceremony at the ancestral home Kano- Kabonyo on Friday, 3rd July 2020 in conformity with Covid-19 regulations.

We appreciate all the warm and heartfelt condolences we have received from family and friends, all those she touched in one way or another.

The shimmer of her vivacious presence shall be missed in every room. Rest in Peace Anne Osure Okota Amolo

We, the Wamwangi family, would like to thank the Almighty God for the life of our mother, Zelipah Waniiru Wamwangi, and the wonderful and most memorable times we had with her. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude and deepest appreciation to our relatives, friends and professional colleagues for your consoling messages, prayers and financial support following the passing on of our dear mother.

Our special thanks goes to her doctor, Dr. Gladwell Kiarie, for taking care of her over the years. We extend this gratitude to Dr. Philip Kisyoka and the nurses who attended to her at Nairobi Hospital during her hospitalization. We are also grateful to the entire PCEA Andrews Church through the Parish Moderator, Rev. Harun Ngere. We felt the warmth and care of the many church groups including Ngei 2 District and the Woman’s Guild that mum was a member, who came to console with us. Our gratitude also goes to Langata PCEA Church led by the Parish Minister, Rev. Jason Mwirichia for praying and standing with us at our lowest moment.

We also want to thank the funeral committee chaired by Dr. Peter Muthoka for a job very well done. We express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Wachira of Vineyard Hospital and his team of professionals, Thika Level 5 Doctors and nurses, Karen Hospital Doctors and nurses all who did their best in trying to save her life. We also express our gratitude to the entire P.C.E.A Thika Presbytery and beyond, led by our parish minister Rev. John Kamau Mwangi who was with us from the beginning to the end assisted by church elders. Deacons, all church groups, friends from outside the country and within, Wambugu’s and Kagema’s extended families, our in-laws and our neighbours. Special thanks to Assistant Chief Makutano, Mr. Maim who was with us during that critical period. We also thank my neighbor Mr. Mwangi, and his family for getting out of their way to see that the grave was properly done and everything else was in order in Kirinyaga. Our special thanks go to our dear mum for being a virtuous woman throughout dad’s life, sickness and funeral, may God strengthen you to move on.

We also express our sincere gratitude to all medical staff of Bungoma West Hospital under guidance of our in law Doctor Jacob Wanyama, KNH and Dave his personal nurse. Thank you so much for your kindness and compassion that you showed our family at the time of our dad’s death.

You made a difficult time less stressful. We truly appreciate your service.

We thank all family members, relatives and Batilu clan for your cooperation and support during Dad’s sickness and funeral. Our sincere gratitude to all our friends and colleagues who stood with us during the hard times. Special thanks to his best friend Pastor Gilbert Wambalava for the effort you made during his sickness and final send off.

We thank Machakha friends church, Namawanga Monthly meeting, Bungoma catholic church and all associations for your prayers and spiritual support. The tremendous love you have shown us during this difficult time is greatly appreciated.
