We regret to announce the sudden and untimely death of David Kiatu (Shanzu Law Courts, Kilifi) which occurred on 19th December, 2020 at Matter Hospital, Nairobi.

Loving husband of Gladys Mawia of Kenya Prisons Service – Machakos.

Father of Angel Mwende (EarlyBird Primary, Machakos) and Hadrian Mumo.

Son of John Ngui Kiatu (formerly of KPLC) and Josephine Kasungwa.

Son-in-law of Esther Nason. Brother of Kuyumba, Kalima, Musau (Mwingi Level 4 Hospital) and Muthui (Garissa).

The first grandson of Jemimah Kalima Musau, nephew of Hon. Patrick Koki Musau (Kuvasila) CECM – Tourism/Environment – County Government of Kitui, Dr. Lydia Kilanga of Kaluki Ngilu Girls Secondary School, Christine Koki (Judiciary), Muthengi Nzula, Maitha, Joyce Nduku (Machakos Level V Hospital) among others. A cousin of Nicholas, Victor, Jemimah, Nick, Gloria, Nzenge, Musyoka, among many others.

Friends and relatives and well wishers are meeting at Machakos Prison and at his Kavuvwani home daily for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home – Machakos on Saturday 26th December, 2020 at 7:00am burial at his Kavuvwani Home, Mwingi West Constituency – Kitui County.

There will be a funds-drive to defray hospital bills and funeral expenses at Nairobi Central SDA Church on Jakaya Kikwete Road on Tuesday 22nd December 2020 from 5pm and daily meetings at Highlands Inn Hotel, Eldoret.

Burial will cake place at Riakworo Village Behind Riakworo Primary and Secondary Schools, Kitutu Masaba on 24th December 2020.

It is with great sorrow and deep sense of loss that the Council of Governors joins the nation in mourning the death of our brother His Excellency, John Nyagarama, Governor Nyamira County which occurred on 18th December 2020.

The late was the first and incumbent Governor of the County Government of Nyamira.

The Council of Governors has lost a brilliant policy maker and a firm leader who served the Country with utmost dedication.

He had immense understanding of Devolution and true servant leadership which benefitted the people of Nyamira County.

Until his demise, the late was a member of the Agriculture Committee and a dedicated Christian who led the Council in prayers during Council meetings.

Governor Nyagarama inspired and will continue to inspire the younger generations to serve this country with love, diligence and commitment.

The family will hold a requiem mass on Wednesday, 23rd December 2020 at Nyamira Primary starting 10:00am.

On Thursday, 24th December 2020, the burial ceremony will be held at Nyamira Primary starting 10:00am and he will later be laid to rest in his home at Tente in Nyamira County.

The Council has provided a condolence book for signing by the members of the public at our offices in Delta Corner, Westlands, Nairobi.

The Council of Governors conveys heartfelt condolences to our late brother’s family, relatives, friends and the people of Nyamira County.

Our collective prayers are with you at this period of immense grief.

He was the loving husband of Chiintal and father to Gad, Keza and Nshuti.

He was brother to Mary, late John, late Lt Col Jack, late Emmanuel, late Winnie, Ruth, and Ann.

Son of the late Ephraim Amurono and Mary Ayuko Andere. Brother to the late David and John Andere, Jimmy Andere, Grace Andere Kihindas and Florence Wanyoike.

Husband of Carol Wavinya Andere and Winrose Wanjiku Andere.

Father of the late Anita, Faith, Cedric, Claire Chege, and Jabali. Step- Father to Charlene. Father-in-law to Chege and Nelson Kifworo.

Grandfather to Keith, Ethan, Malaika, Liam, Zahra,Aiden.
Cousin, Uncle, Friend, Colleague and Mentor to many.

Family & friends are meeting on the 22nd, 23rd and 28th of December at All Saints Cathedral from 5-7pm.

Memorial service will be held on the 29th of December 2020, 8am at Lavington United Church.

Funeral and burial service will be held at his home in Ileho, Kakamega on 30th December 2020.
