It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of Brother Johnson M. Gichira Kibiru, former Deed Plan Officer at the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning, which occurred on 24/08/2020 after a very short illness. Johnson was the Vice Chairman of A.C.K St. Helen’s Church Githurai 45.

Loving husband of Anne Mwillaki. Son of the late Peter Muriuki and the late Jennipher Muthoni. Son in-law of the late Chief Eliud Ndung’u and the late Mary Kanyi.

Brother of Senator Charles Kibiru, Stephen Murage, the late Ruben Kinyua, James Maregwa, Bernard Muriithi, Wilson Muthii, Beatrice Wambui, Rose Wambui and many others.

Father of Jennifer Nyawira, Victor Gichangi and Kennedy Ndung’u. Father in-law of Jorim Midumbi, Monica Wanjiku and Caroline Waiganjo. Grandfather of Larissa, Brianna, Cedric, Carniella and Clyne. Dear brother in-law, cousin and uncle of many.

Memorial Service takes place on Sunday 30th August at A.C.K St. Hellen’s Church Githurai from 3,00pm – 4:30pm.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home on 1st September 2020 at 8.00am for his final resting place at his farm in Getuya village, Ndia Constituency, Kirinyaga County. Burial Service to begin at 11.00am,

It is with humble acceptance of God’s Will that we announce the passing on of Jaspher Otieno Ater on 17th August 2020.

Son to Mama Susan Awuor Ogwada and the late Snr. Chief Walter Ater Nguka and a step son to Mama Saline Ater of Migori County, Nyatike Subcounty. At the time of his death Jaspher taught in the Department of Media and Communication Technology of Maseno University. He previously taught at Kenya Institute of Mass Communication and Kenya Polytechnic.

Jaspher is survived by two wives: Sgt. Millicent Achieng Otieno of Industrial Area Police Station and Judith Auma Otieno of SBM Bank, Kisumu. A Caring father to Sherlyn Joy Otieno, Tony Peter Otieno, Susan Awuor Otieno and Daisy Gweth Otieno. He was a brother to Gilbert Ater, Medrick Ater, Kenneth Ater, Sammy Ater, Jackline Ater, Emily Ater, Nancy Ater, Morine Ater, Tefuly Ater, Cynthia Ater, Damaris Ater, Melder Ater, Dorine Ater and Sharon Ater. Nephew to Johnson Ojowi, the late Joshua Ogwada, Bishop Walter Ogwada, Peter Kiche, Nahashon Mauko and the late Nichanor Oweru, Kerina Agolla, Meresa Nguka, Zilper Nguka, Kerina Nyangaya, Salome Nguka and Auma Nguka.

His brothers-in-law include George Otieno, James Awuor, Sgt. Fredrick Ochuka, Daniel Moi, Paul Onyango, Jackob Ombati, Cpl. Kenneth Oyugi, Thomas Odongo and Tom of Waloma. His sisters-in-law are Judith Ochieng, Mary Ken, Hellen Medrick, Beatrice Sammy, Judith Paul, Caren Oweru, Leonida Aoko, Nancy Adhiambo, and Esther Auma. Son-in-law to the late James Ouma Opapo and Mama Monicah Aomo; Peter Okeyo Node and Mama Eunice Atieno Okeyo. Loving uncle to Joy Pauline, Devna Awuor, Ronnie Walter, Linder Adhiambo, Stephany Paul, Susan Ochieng, Olvine Medrick, Bradocks Ombati, Cicillia, Tom, Bright Atieno, Jada Zanetta and Jasmine Imani. All whom he adored and loved deeply.

Daughter of Leornard Mburia Mbogo and Caroline Ciamwari Mburia and daughter in law of the late Elias Kiraithe and Sebastiana lthima Elias. She was the sister of Doreen Ukima, Morris Gitari and Roy Mwenda and a niece of The Mbogo’s and The M’rithaa. Sister in law of Caroline, Faith, Mwenda, Aniceta, Lucy, Mercy, Joy, Mary, Jane, Paul, Leornard, Archangel, Denis, Eric, the late Anastasio, the late Japhet, the late Purity and the late Jully. Aunt of Favour Angel, Zoey Layla and Shane Ann.

The Cortege leaves Gakwegori Funeral Home on Friday 28th August, 2020 at 9:30 A.M for a funeral service at Ndangani Parish Centre; Mwema Prayer House starting at 11:00 A.M, and a burial thereafter at Njaina village, Tharaka Nithi County.

Daughter of Eliud Muigai Gitau and Susan Wanjiru Muigai of Umoja Innercore, Nairobi. Mother of Collins Muigai and Clarence Karanja. Sister of Christopher Gitau, the late Stephen Wangonya, Jemima Wanjiku, James Ndungu, Francis Karanja and Naomi Wangare. Sister in law of Ann Wanjiru Karanja and Samuel Ndungu. She was a beloved aunty and cousin of many.

She will be laid to rest at Gatundu North Constituency, Kariva, Thika on Friday 28th August 2020.

In Yahweh’s hands you rest, in our hearts you live forever. You were the flower that YAHWEH picked on that evening. We shall miss you dearly.

Wife of the late Pancrasio Mathinji. Daughter of the late John Wanjohi and Mary Muthoni. Mother of the late James Wachira, Margaret Wangechi, Lucy Gaita, John Wanjohi, Joseph Kanyi, Boniface Mwangi, Joyce Wahito and Magdaline Wanjiku. Mother-in-love of Hellen Wachira, Julius Gaita, Hildah Wambui, Rosemary Kanyi, Ruth Mwangi and Emilio Mugendi. Sister of the late Wambura Muchina, Esther Njoki, the late Magdalene Munga, Jane Waitherero and Simon Mwangi. She was a grandmother, great grandmother of Ade, lmani & Rakem, aunt and an inspiration to many.

Family & friends are currently meeting virtually from her home in Kiawaita, Mukurweini every day from 5.30 pm.

The cortege leaves Karatina Jamii Hospital mortuary at 9.30 am on Tuesday, September 1st 2020. Requiem mass will be held at Kaheti Catholic Church and thereafter burial at her home in Kiawaita village.
