Captain Hillary Shirekule Litali

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for the grace of God, we announce the passing on of Captain Hillary Shirekule Litali. He served as the ADC to the Late CDF General Francis Ogolla, and sadly died with him in the ill-fated helicopter crash on 18 April 2024.

He was the beloved son of Dickson Macrae Litali and Evelyne Omeri Namutu.

Devoted Husband of Nancy Mutata, and Loving father of Nylah Litali.

He Leaves behind his brother, Willys Shehemi Litali.

Captain Hillary was a cherished son-in-law of Justus Mutata and Josephine Murata.

Uncle Dr. Jeff Mailu, Sammy Mutua, Aunt Dorcas and a brother-in-law of Major Mutua, Carol Mutata, Maj Loko, Faith Mutata, Nduku Mutata, Winnie Mutata and Joel Kamuti.

He was nephew of Stephen & Faith Opati, Grace Abucheli, Peter Chetiti, Phoebe Moyi, Thomas Litali, Agnes Shihemi, Phanice Shihemi Jackline Shihemi and Salome Omeri.

Cousin of Blanka Wanjiru Opati, Bravon Opati, Favour Opati, Blessing Opati, Ron Abucheli, Ann Chetiti and Mouren

Grandson of the Late WO1 James Shihemi Litali, the Late Moses Omumia, Fanuel Litali, Hezron Moyi Litali, the Late Reuben Litali, Isaac Litali, Jennifer, Liz, Peris and the Late Noel.

Funeral arrangements are currently underway at Danny’s Court South B Nairobi, Nakuru Shabab and their Ingotse home.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, 11 May 2024 in Ndalu Scheme,Tongaren Sub-County, near Kitale Town.

Husband of the late Lay Canon Hannah Wanjiku Njihia and Rebecca Wanjiru Nijihia. Father of Timothy Njihia & Eva, Rufus Niihia & Phyllis, Precious, Patience and Prince.

With profound acceptance of God’s divine will, we, the family of the esteemed Dr. George Noah Amimo Apondo, deeply mourn his passing.

Born to the revered late Bishop Samuel Apondo and Mama Maslina Ooyi Apondo of Kajulu Kadero, Kianja, he departed from this world on the 26th of April 2024.

He was a beloved husband of Christine Awuor Apondo and Judith Apondi Apondo, a cherished father of David, Rose, Nevin, Eric, and Maslina.

In addition, he was a loving sibling of Benjamin, the late Joseph Shem, Barak Caleb, Denis, Joyce, Dina, Risper, the late Phoebe, Mercy, and Doris. His legacy extends as a grandfather of Christina Kerubo, Emilian Kayo, and Alma Chiwo.

Dr. George Apondo was a respected brother-in-law of the late Joseph Alwanda, Rev. Otieno Gogo, the late James, Erastus, Bernard, John, Fred, Martin, Prisca, Consolata, Merab, the late Lorna, Quinter, Wilkister Aura, Damaris Aura, Pamela, Alice, Canon Loice, Florence, and others.

His memory lives on through numerous nephews and nieces, including Benson Odhiambo Okelo, Malacki, Joakim, Rodgers, Lucy Judy, Phoebe, Philip, Bicko, Lucas, George,Alphine, and many more.

A Harambee will be held on Wednesday, the 8th of May 2024, commencing at 4:00 pm, at the ACK Cathedral Hall, Opposite Central Police Station, Nakuru. Another one on the same day at Hot dishes in Nairobi, Courtesy of Kajulu Nyabangu based in Nairobi.

Departure and Viewing of the Body will take place at Umash Funeral Home, Nakuru, on the 10th of May 2024, starting at 8:00 am. Subsequently, the cortege will depart for Kianja Kajulu Kadero at 10:00 am on the same day, making a brief stop-over at his residence in Olive Inn Kiamunyi, Nakuru.

Upon arrival in Kajulu, there will be prayers at 4:00 pm, followed by a night vigil on Friday, led by the Church of Peace in Africa, Kianja. The Funeral Service will be held at the residence of the late Bishop Apondo on the 11th of May 2024, beginning at 10:00 am.

Daktari, you embraced peace in life and have carried it into eternity. May the name of the Almighty be praised.
