There will be mass at 5pm on arrival at Makemo Catholic Church.

 

Burial service will be conducted on Saturday 17th December 2016, starting at 10am by the Catholic Church.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mama Filgona Ngasi Ochola which occurred on 1st December 2016.

 

She was the daughter of the late Mzee Jonathan Ogada Okore and the late Mama Persila Magara of Nyahera-Karombo.

Wife of Francis Ochola Kamusa of Kanyagwal, Kano – Kisumu County.

Co-wife to Mama Helen Ochola and Pamela Ochola.

 

Mother of the late Joshua Ochola, Dr Washington Ochola of USAID — Africa Lead II, Charles Ochola of St Mary’s School, Japan, Dr Samuel Ochola of Kenyatta University, Lucia Auma and the late William Ochola.

 

Mother in-law to Caroline, Maureen, Albina, Sheila and Doris. Loving grandmother of Filgona Tana (formerly of Egerton University). Persila Magara (Egerton University), Charlyne (Simon Fraser University, Canada). Tamara (University of Nairobi). Innocent (St Lawrence University NY, USA). Her body leaves Star Mortuary Kisumu on Friday 16th December at 11am for a requiem mass at St Lewnorah Catholic Ngere Kagoro.

 

Burial will take place on Saturday 17th December 2016 starting at 9am at the family home in Wang’aya County (along the Awasi-Kisumu highway).

We remain humbled by the fellowship of Bishop Liverson Mng’oda and Retired Bishop Samson Mwaluda of ACK Taita Taveta Diocese and all Clergy who supported us, including Rev Githaiga, Rev Jackline Ngala and Rev Wanjau of St. Barnabas Church, Lang’ata. We are touched by the Choir from St. Barnabas who visited us daily in Lang’ata and Voi, and lifted us spiritually with their songs. We are indeed blessed to be your congregation.

 

We are extremely grateful to the Nairobi and Voi Funeral Committees led by Mr Saul Mwangola for their total dedication and to all the Relatives, In-Laws and Friends, including the extended Mwashimba, Mwangola, Owiti, Mwabili, Abdi-Weis and Kiplagat Families, who stopped by to condole with us, encouraged us and reached out through texy messages and other communication channels.

 

Special thanks to the CEO, Management, Doctors and Medical Staff of Nairobi Hospital for their compassion towards our mother.
